Beer Batter Fish Made Great

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
Delicious! I make this every other week! Torn between this and another beer batter fish recipe on here; they are both tasty. I actually like this one better because I can omit the milk, add more spice and more beer. Simply delicious!!

Beer Batter Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
Awesome! We make these almost every week in our house! So delicious and sometimes even tastier as a left-over on a sandwich! I make a tartar sauce to accompany the fish, but it's tasty on its own too! Yum!

Turkey Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
Well I did it. They were yummy but far too much work for this new mom. :/ The ones I froze are still coming in handy! I don't know what to do about the cabbage leaves being so small. I felt like I only had 4-6 leaves that were big enough to wrap so the rest fell apart. I'll try again in a few years when the kids are in school ;)

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
I can't stop making this recipe! To die for! So delicious! I always double it with the intention of freezing some, but they never make it to the freezer! I skip the worcestershire sauce and add more crushed red peppers. Spicy! Delicious in spaghetti, on a roll or on their own!

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
I wish I had cut the chicken breasts up, because they were too massive and didn't cook evenly in the oil. Also I didn't grind all the crackers up to a fine powder, and I left some tiny bits in which got a bit burned. Maybe the mistakes were all my fault, but I was not really moved by this recipe. Kinda bland. One good point is that the outside was crunchy and the inside was juicy! Next time I'll try with some changes (cut up chicken, finer cracker powder, and more spices and seasonings!)

Glazed Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
These cookies turned out yummy but I had higher hopes. I followed recipes exactly. Icing was very runny and tasted a bit too sweet. Cookie dough was crumbly and required alot of manipulation to hold together. I would use the recipe again but I would tinker with icing to make it a bit thicker. And the cookie dough itself could use a bit more liquid perhaps.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
These muffins were ok. I used fresh pumpkin, hoping that would give the moist muffins more substance. Unfortunately they were still a little on the mushy side. Great if you like moist muffins! Disappointing if you're looking for something sweet and hearty.

Spicy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
Tasty little cookies high in fiber and healthy fats. These were gobbled up crazy fast by my gym nut boyfriend! Super easy to make! Great alternative to banana bread for those less-than-ripe bananas.

Florentine Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2011
Served this cold. Halved the cream cheese, and added 8oz of sour cream instead of mayo. Freaking delicious! Also only used 1/4 c. parmesan! Yum!

Grilled Tuna Steaks with Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
Skipped the mustard powder and used apple cider vinegar in place of white wine vinegar. Outstanding! This was the best sauce I have ever had on fish! In fact, this was the best fish meal I've ever made! The boyfriend was thrilled and ate it all and all the leftovers the next day. The sauce was great on the potatoes and couscous we ate with the tuna as well. Broiled my tuna for 6 minutes on each side, and it was still pink in the middle but o-so-tasty! Again and again, I will crave and cook this!

It was ok. I used fresh spinach and subbed paprika for red pepper flakes. Found it kinda bland. Ate it but did not finish leftovers :(

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
Modified recipe but best carrot cake I've ever made! Used vanilla soy milk instead of buttermilk. Skipped walnuts, coconut, raisins and pineapple juice. Substituted half the flour with soy flour for extra protein. Delicious and nutritious! Was a hit with me and my man!

This salmon really surprised me! So delicious! I followed the recipe though took the advice of a reviewer and a tbsp of crushed ginger. Wow! Dynamite! Served with roasted black sesame asparagus and a tomato/bell pepper/feta salad for a healthy, tasty meal!

No Skill Fruit Tart

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
Scored MAJOR points with the new boyfriend for this fruit tart! The crust got the most compliments and looked so pretty in the rippled tort pie pan I found at IKEA. Perfect recipe! Will make AGAIN and AGAIN! I used an electric mixer. I also did not fold the dough up over the fruit but instead pressed it into the ripples of my tart pan. Baked the night before and served for dessert the next night and breakfast the day after! Used blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. Heavenly!

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
Used this recipe for the white sauce. Daaaang! Delicious! I skipped the may o and used 1 whole cup of plain non-fat Greek style yogurt. Added a little extra dill and a tsp of minced jalapenos. So yummy! So light and refreshing! Perfect on the hot fish tacos!

Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
Used this recipe just for the mango salsa. Mmm!I used dried cilantro and skipped the red onion. I also added tomatoes and extra green bell peppers. Very colorful! Yummy as a chip dip or a topping to the fish tacos I made! Mango was a pain to work with, but I would definitely do it again!

Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
The fish and marinade were tasty. Well received! Even better as a leftover. However, as a fish taco connoisseur, I must say I was not blown away by the taste. Next time I make these, I will add more lime and more jalapeno and probably skip the Old Bay, as it didn't contribute much but saltiness.
