Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
i used 1 jar of beef gravy instead of the au jux mix and water and low sodium cream of mushroom soup instead of crm of chicken. i also threw in a few small whole onions, some baby carrots and about 8 small red potatoes (washed, skins on) at the beginning of cooking. cooked it for 4 to 5 hours on low and everything came out perfect! i didn't have to make anything extra, it was all in the slow cooker! will definitely make this again!!

Cowboy Casserole

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
this was great! reminded me of a chili/sloppy joe mix. we made the biscuits in the oven, then put the meat mixture on top. besides the onion, we added a chopped green pepper and chopped jalapeno. i also made a vegetarian batch cutting the recipe in half. i used a half pack of soy hot dogs, chopped and fried in a little butter to replace the ground beef. added the same veggies, but instead of bacon, sprinkled a little bacos (soy product) in a few minutes before serving. they softened up and gave it the bacon flavor without adding any meat. he's 18 and loved it!! this is a great recipe, thanks!!

Chicken Suiza Cornbread Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
going to give this 5 stars even though i haven't tried it yet only because i love all the ingredients it calls for anyway. a word of advice...there is a recipe on this site called sticky rotisserie chicken (EXCELLENT), and you make 2 roasters at a time. use one that night, then cool and take chicken off bone to freeze for a later use. then, when making this or any other recipe that calls for cooked chicken, all you have to do is defrost it. it's less expensive and you can add/take away flavor/spices you would like. i do it all the time and it's a great time saver!!! UPDATE: i made this adding a few jalapenos and crm of chicken soup and 3/4 c. sour cream...excellent! i also made a vegetarian version for my son. used soy chicken and portabella mushrooms for the "meat" and used cream of celery soup instead of the chicken. he loved it!

Sun-dried Tomatoes I

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
these sound great! going to try them this summer with all the extra tomatoes i'm going to have. my question is, (besides freezing) when storing these in olive oil and garlic, basil, etc. how long do they last in the fridge? some say let them sit a couple weeks in the fridge, but how long do they last after that? thanks in advance!

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
made this for Christmas Eve. personally, make this about 8 hrs. ahead of time and roll in pecans right before serving. after waiting those 8 hrs., it's definitely not as salty and it's much easier to handle when rolling in nuts because it's alot more firm. already planning on making this again for new years eve!

Corn Dog Casserole

I made the recipe exactly as written and it was delicious! I have 4 teenagers (19 thru 15) and they loved it also. Besides making the full recipe, I also made another half recipe using tofu hot dogs for my vegetarian son. They all agreed it's a keeper! Thanks for sharing!

My cake had great flavor, but was extremely dry. I followed the recipe exactly, even baked it for 45 minutes instead of 55.

Gramma's Cream of Broccoli

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This is a really good soup. I could only find a 12 oz. can of evaporated milk, so I made up the rest with heavy cream. I substituted 1% milk for the water (that's all we drink), and added a little pepper at the end. It turned out thick and creamy and tased great. Will definitely make again

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
Great!! Everyone loved it...even the "non" broccoli eaters. I've made it twice and the second time I was asked to make extra. I doubled the recipe and I still didn't have any leftovers. Definitely a keeper.

It tasted just like jalapeno poppers!! I served it with Ritz crackers and that really pulled it together. The crackers tasted like the breading.

It was really good, but a little thick. I just added in extra chicken broth until I got the consistency I was looking for. Daughter loved it.

Brazilian Lemonade

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
This is a great summer cocktail. I took Miss Powers advice and used 1 c. rum, 1 c. coconut water and 1 c. water instead of 3 c. water. The only thing I'd change is next time I might use a little less sugar. This recipe is a keeper!!! Thanks!!!
