Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
So easy and delicious. I have to leave out the onion and green pepper because of people in my family who can't eat them. So I used onion powder and otherwise followed the recipe.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
I forgot to start this in the crock pot early so since I worked from home that day I started the entire thing stovetop, brought it to a boil and then dummped it into the crockpot. It simmered on low in the crock pot for about 4 hours and it was absolutely delcious! The only change I made was to double the green chilies because we love them.

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
This is a delicious pasta salad. I must say that I had to change it up a bit because I was making it for my daughter's birthday party and she does not like tomatoes or black olives so I had to leave those out. I used the entire packet of ranch dressing mix and used cubed cheese. I understand why this dish is requested often because my family asked me to make it again the next time we get together.

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
I have always made my deviled eggs with these ingredients but never measured so how they turned out was inconsistent. This recipe is perfect and the quality comes out great every time.

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
These are absolutely the BEST! I have used all kinds of sausage with this.... ground chorizo, spicy breakfast sausage, maple sausage and all worked out great! My husband doesn't like cream cheese too much so I cut that in half. I also use Neufchatel to cut back on the fat and calories some. I have taken this dish to lots of parties and even the people who don't think they can stand the spice of jalapenos love these!

Great Grandpa's Garlic Pickles

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
Great Grandpas pickles are fabulous! I did make a small change in that I threw in a few slices of pickled jalapenos and about 2 tablespoons of the pickling juice from the jalapenos. All of the adults in my house declared these the "best pickles" they ever had and they asked me to keep them on hand all the time. We eat them with dinner every night we eat at home.... With Mexican food, italian food, any kind as these pickles are good with everything.

Coffee Flavored Liqueur III

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
I did change this up a bit but used the basic recipe and it is DELICIOUS stuff! My daughter declared it better than the "real" stuff. I tried it with the coffee grinds in the water but after spending 15 minutes and making a big mess trying to get all of the grounds out I threw that batch away and started with a really strong brewed chocolate flavored coffee. I used 3 cups of coffee and simmered the ingredients for 30 minutes until it reduced down to about half. Then I threw in a handful of ice to cool it down and added the Absolut vodka. Didn't wait for it to sit for a few days. The batch was gone in 2 days and I'm making another batch as we speak! One caution.... DON'T let this stuff boil over on your stove. You'll be cleaning the mess for hours as the sugar will immediately harden and create a cleaning nightmare.

Ham and Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
This was a delicous way to use up some of our leftover Christmas ham. I did leave out the onion and used 1/2 teaspoon onion powder instead. I also increased the breadcrumbs to 1/2 a cup and toasted them in 1 tablespoon of butter. Just before I was going to pop the casserole in the oven my husband came home with a bonus check so he wanted to take my 80-year old Dad and me out todinner. So I covered the casserole with foil and stuck it in the frige. The next night I took it out and baked it covered for 25 minutes then uncovered for another 25 minutes and it was done.

Taco Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
I made this salad exactly as directed and for me it didn't turn out. The entire bottle of salad dressing heated up with the meat and beans then dummped onto the lettuce. Then add the sour cream and salsa and what I ened up with was a goopy over dressed mess that immediately became soggy. If I made this again I for sure wouldn't use the entire bottle of dressing as it was WAY too much and I would probably cool the meat/bean mix down some so it didn't wilt the lettuce because we like our lettuce salads to have crispy lettuce.

Linguine with Clam Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
5* Restaurant style Clam Sauce for sure! The only thing I changed was to have 1 tablespoon of garlic, as we love it in our house! My 78 year-old Dad's comment was "More sauce and less linguine next time" even thought his linguine was SWIMMING in the sauce - he said he could eat the sauce as a soup. DH and my 6 year old grandson also love this sauce. Easy and delicious is just my type of recipe!
