My husband has always been a fan of meatloaf but he REALLY loves this one. Whenever he knows we're having meatloaf he asks if itis the one I made last time (meaning this one). I use seasoned bread crumbs and sometimes add a 2nd egg.

Maple Apple Crisp

My husband's favourite dessert is Apple Crisp though he's always maintained that no one's is as good as his mothers. When I made this it was gone in one evening and he asked me to make it again for the next day. I just used table top syrup as I didn't have pure maple syrup and the hint of maple flavour was fantastic.

French Toast II

This was a very easy recipe to follow and for someone who had never made french toast before I was surprised at how simple it was. I didn't have any nutmeg on hand but it was fine just with the cinnamon. We'll definately have it again.

Simple Spinach Salad

This was the first salad I made for dinner with my new in-laws. I left out the mushrooms and the onions as I know those are not favourites but made the rest exactly as called for. I made the mistake of mixing everything in except for the dressing 2 hours before dinner (because we had to travel) and the nuts got soft. DO NOT mix them in until just before the dressing. The dressing is fabulous too. Everyone loved it and there was nothing left, the bowl was scraped clean.

Slow Cooker BBQ Pork Chops

These were great and most of the family enjoyed them. It did use more BBQ sauce then I expected (even though I read the amount in the recipe) but turned out very well. I used fast frying pork without the bones and they were quite soft and good. Will definately make again.

Jam Muffins

These were quick and easy but only tasted ok. I followed the suggestions of others and put the jam in the middle with more dough on top and that worked well. I used raspberry jam and since I had fresh raspberries on hand I did put in fresh raspberries in the dough. I liked them but as my husband did not I will not make them again.

Chocolate Chip Muffins

These were quick and easy to make but I did not like the taste of them at all. They were very bland the only thing you could taste was the chocolate chips and though there were plenty of those it did not mask the blandness of the muffin itself. I would find another recipe.
