Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2015
Very easy, quite good. The only ingredient I changed was the cream of chicken soup--there was just no way I could bring myself to use it. It just didn't make any sense to me. I used cream of mushroom. I made half the recipe, which was perfect for us. I feel like it is missing something. Next time I make it, and I do plan on making it again, I think I have to add something. Not sure what. Black pepper, for one thing. I just feel like it needs a bit more flavor. But we did like it. Thanks for sharing.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2015
We really like this a lot! Very easy, and very tasty. I did add black pepper and a bit of garlic powder, but those are flavors we like, so I couldn't help myself. I ended up having to finish cooking it a bit differently. I added the cut-up biscuits when I got home from work. It became apparent that they were going to take longer than I expected. It was getting late, and we didn't want to wait much longer. So I took off the layer of biscuits, poured the chicken mixture into a casserole dish, and placed the biscuits back on top. I then put it in the oven at 375 degrees. They finished cooking pretty quickly. I think next time I make it, I will put it in a casserole dish and put the biscuits on top, and put it in the oven. I don't think I will try putting them in the slow cooker. I am sure it works fine if you have the time, but it just doesn't work out for me with the time I get home, and when I would like to eat. I also needed more liquid. I used the two cans of soup, and as some others suggested, used chicken broth instead of water. I used one can of broth. But I would probably add a can of water, too, next time. It seemed like there was enough liquid, but once I added the biscuits, they seemed to soak up some of the liquid. Thanks for a great recipe to add to my rotation.

Quick and Easy Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2015
My family and I didn't like this a whole lot. We didn't hate it, but it is not a recipe I will repeat. The only addition I made was to add cumin to the shredded chicken, as I love cumin very much, and I always put it in any Mexican or Southwestern recipe. The flavor is ok, but not enough for us. The texture is probably the biggest issue for us. Kind of mushy. At first I was trying to think of some ways to change it next time for more flavor, such as adding a can of green chilies to the chicken for some heat, but after talking to my family while we ate about what I might try to do different next time, I realized they weren't very enthusiastic, so I'll not try it again. It's ok, and I'm glad so many people love it, as I always feel bad when I don't give a recipe a rave review. But I do try and be honest.

Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
My family and I really enjoyed this dish. I was curious about using canned biscuits for the top, so I used the Bisquick biscuits on one half and the canned biscuits on the other. Some of us liked the Bisquick better, while others preferred the canned biscuits. I think I will make it with both again next time. I did use frozen peas, as I don't buy canned peas. It was very good, and I will be making this again.

Creamy Chipotle Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
This was a big hit in my house! I followed the ingredients exactly, but did adjust the cooking method. I melted the butter in a saucepan, then added the soup and cream cheese and cooked it on low to melt the cream cheese, then added the other ingredients and poured it over the chicken in the crock pot. It was very good. Thanks for sharing such a delicious and easy recipe.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: May 24, 2011
I have made this and it is delicious and so simple. I also have made it with honey instead of the maple syrup, keeping everything else the same. Wonderful with the honey, too. When I make it with the honey, I sometimes add either fresh or dried ginger.

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
This is a very good marinade. I followed the recipe for the marinade exactly. I did not make kabobs, rather I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I marinated them for about 6 hours. We thought it was delicious, very flavorful. Very easy, with simple, basic ingredients.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
I made this for my husband, and he just loves it! (So do I!) Very easy, quick and delicious. He suggested we try it with beef cube steaks sometime, too. I did use garlic salt instead of garlic powder.

Sweet and Spicy Picante Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
What an easy, tasty recipe! I made this last night for the first time, and my husband and I just loved it! I followed the recipe, only sprinkling salt and pepper on the chicken breasts before pouring the salsa mixture over the top. You can taste the dijon and the brown sugar, but neither of them is overwhelming at all. They just add a wonderful richness to the salsa. So glad I tried it, and I know I will be making it again and again. Thanks for such an easy and delicious recipe!

Triple Cranberry Salad Mold

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
First off, I apologize for altering the recipe a bit. I like to review recipes as they are intended, but I left out the celery and walnuts. Otherwise, I followed the recipe. In all honesty, I didn't like it. I found the whole raw cranberries too tart for me. I was hesitant to bring this to Thanksgiving dinner, but I'm glad I did. Everyone there just loved it! I am the only one who didn't. They loved it so much, they asked me to bring it to Christmas dinner. It's very easy to do, with readily available ingredients. It was a big hit!

Salmon with Brown Sugar Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
Thank you for such a delicious, simple recipe! I made this for my family, and we all loved it. My husband and son love salmon, but I'm not too fond of it. I usually end up eating a few bites, then giving the rest to one of them. Not this time! I ate it! It sounds almost too simple to be good--but it is great! I followed your ingredients exactly. I did bake instead of broiling, but only because my vegetable and baked rice were already in the oven. Wonderful!

Easy Spicy Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
Very good and easy. My family liked them. Next time I will leave the chili powder out and play with some other spices. The chili powder was the only thing I wasn't wild about.

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
Yummy and easy! I had some wild blueberries to use, and was looking for something good to make. So glad I tried this recipe. I made it exactly as the recipe was written, which I think you should do if you are going to review a recipe. I figure if you don't like something, you can change it next time. No changes needed! Very moist and tasty, nothing too fussy. Simple ingredients, simple preparation, and simply good! I did have to bake it longer. I tested it at the designated time with a toothpick, and it was quite doughy. I baked it an extra 10 minutes, that did the trick. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful recipe.
