About this Cook
I love to cook! It is not only my job it is my passion :) While i have worked as a cook in serveral restraunts my man and I are planning to have our own deli open soon, followed by or paired with a bakery. We plan to grow our own organic ingr. up here on our mnt.
My favorite things to cook
I dabble in a bit of everything. I absolutly love Japanese cooking! I also do alot of baking. My favorite thing to do is experiment!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmothers have given my a large stack of their old recipes, so any of them would have to be my favorites.
My cooking triumphs
Well i'd have to say that the first time i ever cooked a whole turkey. With no prior experience and only 2 pointers from my mom on temp and bake time, it came out juicy, tender and just delicious! Also I recently made my first decorative pie with leaves and berries shapes, not just traditional pie top.
My cooking tragedies
I burnt mac and cheese on the stove when i was like 10 lol. i really havnt had many failures in cooking, but now that i said that i bet i will.

Pecan Pie
My first attempt at pecan pie I used this recipe. I found it simple and delicious. I also made a couple changes, instead of dark cornsyrup I used a mix of molasses and light corn syrup. I also changed 1 3/4 cup sugar to 1c white sugar 3/4c brown sugar. I changed the baking a bit as well to 400 degrees for about 8 mins then turned down the heat to 350 degrees till the pie was set enough. With my home made crust this pie was crisp yet gooey and sweet and buttery. I will use this recipe again in the future :)

Blueberry Cream Muffins
Great recipe! Very moist and light! Definately a great change from boring muffins. I used wild blueberries that grow on our mnt. so it gave a wonderful tartness to match the sweet :)
