Corn Fritters

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
These are delicious! I used sweet frozen corn instead of canned and they turned out great. I also added about a teaspoon of cinnamon and extra corn for more sweetness. I followed one of the reviews and also added 2 tablespoons of sugar. Overall, these are great and worth a try! I gave some batter to a friend of mine who loved them. Thanks for the recipe!

Very Chocolate Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
This is the best ice cream I have ever made. The flavor is rich and delicious and the texture is smooth and dreamy. I doubled the recipe and used whole milk. I also poured the mixture through a strainer to get rid of any chocolate chunks and egg yolk bits that didn't dissolve. It really helps with the texture. With the recipe doubled, it made about 2 quarts, plenty for my family. My dad tasted the base before freezing it and he said it was so good, he would've eaten that! Thank you so much for this recipe. Will be keeping it forever!

Surprisingly good! My family could not guess the ingredients! They're already begging me to make another batch tomorrow when we have company over. I think I will! Thanks so much for submitting this!

Lemon Bars II

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
Delicious! These bars were really good. I didn't have the full 1/2 cup of lemon juice (ran out of lemons) so I used some lime juice as well and the taste was fantastic!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
These pancakes were very good! I added cinnamon and vanilla and they were great! My only concern is that the batter only made about 9 good sized pancakes, and the rest were mini. Next time, I'm going to double the recipe.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
This pie was really good! I used corn instead of celery and omitted celery seed. Also, I added a splash of worcestershire sauce to the filling. It was so good and I will definitely make it again!

Smoky Barbecue Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
This barbecue sauce is amazing! I halved the recipe and added a little more worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke. I also added about a half teaspoon of cumin. I used it in my chicken recipe and it was a really good restaurant quality meal. I hope this helps, this is a great recipe!

Grandma's Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
This pound cake was great. I've been searching for a good sour cream pound cake recipe for a long time and I think I've found it. I always cut back the baking time to be safe and then I add more if it needs it. I baked only for an hour, poked it 20 times with toothpicks, and every single one came out clean. However, after cooling and putting on a plate, it was still underdone! So, next time I will bake for 1 hour and ten minutes. I also baked at 325, cut back the sugar to 2.5 cups, and added an extra half teaspoon of vanilla. Ran out of mace, so omitted it. Tastes really good with fresh strawberries!

Old-Fashioned Lemonade

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
Mmm! This lemonade is so refreshing! I changed it to 3 servings because I only had 3 lemons. Still made a whole small pitcher enough for dinner tonight! Also, out of the 3 cups of water I needed, 1/2 of it was hot water which I dissolved the sugar in. It gives it a nice smooth texture. It is more tart than most lemonades. When I first tasted it, it was tarter than expected but it's really nice! Try it, it's delicious!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Nut Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
These are really good. I did make some changes like some people said. I used more cocoa, 3 tablespoons oil, omitted the nuts, and used M&Ms baking bits because I ran out of chocolate chips. I also forgot to sprinkle with the 4 tablespoons of sugar. I think these muffins taste better after sitting overnight in a container because when I ate one one fresh it was more like a cupcake than a muffin. The next day, it tasted like a muffin from a bakery! Thanks!

Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
This is a great recipe. It is a great homestyle meal with roasted potatoes and carrots. The secret to a moist chicken is to bake it breast side down half the time and breast side up the rest of the time.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
This is the best tuna salad I've ever had! I used a little extra curry powder and fresh dill from my garden. I also used onion powder instead of flakes. I'm not a fan of pickle relish so I omitted it. I served it on a sesame seed bagel with a big slice of tomato and it was great! The best lunch I've had in a long time!

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
This pie is great! I did change some things, though. I used 5 tablespoons of cornstarch instead of 3 like other reviewers said. I added a splash of lemon juice to the blueberries and baked at 375 on a rack in between the middle and bottom rack for 40 minutes. I hoped this helps, this is a great recipe!!

Angel Food Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I couldn't find an 18.25 ounce package of cake mix. I used a 16 ounce and it made WAY more than I ever expected. I only wanted one dozen like the recipe says but I ended up with enough batter to make 30. I wanted to make these for my son's birthday and I just wanted 1 dozen. I didn't want to waste the batter so I baked all of it and they were pretty and tasted ok. Not anything special. I had so many extra, they just went hard and stale after a week or so anyway.

White Chocolate, Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
Yum! These cookies were sooo good. I used 1 teaspoon baking powder and 1 teaspoon baking soda. Rolled them in 1 inch balls and baked like directed. They were soft, chewy, and cracked at the top. Don't forget to try one right out of the oven! Definitely a keeper!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
This recipe tasted fantastic! It smelled wonderful and it had a great color. The only drawback was that is was VERY thick. Too thick, I think. Next time I make this, I will definitely cut back on the cheese a little. I used 1/2 cup fresh Parmesan (yeah, the good stuff) because I didn't have Romano and it was very rich and very creamy. Great recipe though! It had good flavor!

Flavorful Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
I absolutely loved this! I was a bit iffy about apple juice, but I did have some I had to get rid of and the taste was just phenomenal. I had a ton of over ripe veggies and they tasted great in this recipe! I also served it over chinese noodles instead of rice. Delicious!
