About this Cook
I answered questions and AR classified me as "expert" cooking level? Not sure I would say that, but I like it ; ) I LOVE watching Cooking shows and have often stated I am a "graduate" of Food Network?
My favorite things to cook
Anything to share with others.....really I love cooking for other people. Don't do it often enough these days but used to take dinner for 6-8 people at least once a week at work for awhile. Have had many from that time period tell me how much they miss those days......
My favorite family cooking traditions
Working on creating those......
My cooking triumphs
Not sure it's a "triumph" but it's kinda cool when my older sisters ask me for advice on what or how to cook : ) At least one thing I can do "BEtter"?
My cooking tragedies
I don't have a lot of my Grandmothers' cookbooks therefore lost recipes :(

No Bake Cookies II
This is the recipe I grew up making. I like peanut butter just fine, but it doesn't belong in these cookies :) I can remember as a teen, being impatient & not cooking long enough once it started boiling. My siblings and I however did not trash them, we grabbed spoons. It didn't take long to figure out that boiling long enough would make sure the cookies set up. Thanks for sharing because until I found this one, everyone would share their peanut butter recipe. Many used chocolate instead of cocoa also. Not in my cookies ;) I like the original, no peanut butter and cocoa instead of chocolate ;)

Homemade Vanilla Extract
I would encourage EVERYONE that uses Vanilla Extract to - MAKE YOUR OWN!!!! I have made it for years and like others have said, once you do, the store-bought will never be the same. Even the "good-stuff" almost always has caramel coloring and/or some kind of sweetener? WHY? I usually do start with a good but inexpensive vodka but think I will try a clear rum next time? Don't hesitate - make your own Vanilla!!!! ebay is a great resource for economical beans as they can be expensive but the bang for your buck makes it a great bargain!!! The best tip I can give is do NOT skimp on the beans. The more beans, the stronger the flavor and like someone else suggested - once "used up" in your extract - let them COMPLETELY DRY - then just shove one or two at a time in your sugar canister. The best sugar around for all your baking needs or just in your coffee or tea. BE Well my friends!!!
