Me the Chef!
About this Cook
My husband and I own and operate a horse motel and boarding facility. I have a gourmet kitchen and when I am not involved with the business or horse stuff, I live in that room.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook my family favorites and will try anything new and put my own spin on it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I cook a lot of Romanian dishes that I grew up, also German. My favorite foods to cook are Italian and Greek, but I have expanded to just about anything you can think of.
My cooking triumphs
I was asked to make some desserts for a family member who was retiring. The party was held in a private room at a bar/restaurant. The owner of the facility told me "There are many professional bakers that deliver cakes and desserts here and I have never seen anything like what you have brought." My desserts were the talk of the party.
My cooking tragedies
Well, put a turkey in the oven in the morning, smelled great cause the gizzards were cooking on top of stove. Oven was apparently not working, cause at midnight, it was still not done.

Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta
I made this as written except added fresh sliced mushrooms which required some more butter. My kids said it was "restaurant quality." Great recipie ........... lot of prep but worth it in the end. I also used the sun dried tomatoes that came in a jar soaked in Olive Oil, so they were already soft and the addition of the Olive Oil was great ..... next time I make I will add some fresh basil leaves which I think will give it that extra little boost of flavor it was lacking.
