About this Cook
I work full time, and am always looking for quick things to make for dinner for my teenage son and my boyfriend. I also am recently looking for gluten free recipes and am trying to get away from eating so much meat.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! cheesecake, cookies and pie. I also love to try the old style cooking like stuffed cabbage, stroganoff, paprikash. Any thing new is great too
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family really wasn't known for cooking. I've pretty much taught myself
My cooking tragedies
I once made a brocolli souffle for a Thanksgiving dinner. It was my first attempt at having such a large feast at my home, and this was a new recipe. It was absolutely tasteless and mushy!!! I learned never to try a new recipe on guests!! A few years later I was asked to bring mashed potatoes to a holiday feast. I figured I'd cook the potatoes ahead and mash them when we got there. I didn't know the potatoes would turn to sand.... nobody ever suggests I bring potatoes again. Ah! we live and learn

Fruity Cookie Press Cookies
I made 2 batches of this recipe. one with the suggestions and one following the recipe direct. i found following the direct recipe worked better. the dough is real stiff, but it wouldn't work in the cookie press other wise. tasty cookies. I made one with strawberry banana gelatin and one with berry blue. the berry ones had a better flavor.

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese
a very simple recipe that tasted great. I made it to the recipe specifications and it came out just like my mom's when i was a little kid. Even my mom liked it and she is very picky!

Pizza Casserole
I've been making this recipe for years, and it's one of my family's favorites. We call it slum gooey. I substitute spaghetti sauce for the pizza sauce, and I usually just make it on the stove top. I've added crumbled sausage, pepperoni, ground beef, bacon, green peppers, mushrooms and just about anything else you might find on pizza.
