About this Cook
I am 23 years old. My husband and I have a 5 year old son and another boy comig in September 2008. I'm a stay at home mom right now,but am in school for photography. I really only cook for my family, but I do enjoy cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love coming up with new things to make for my family (especially if they like it). My husband is Italian so most of our food involved pasta and chicken. My son will eat anything, myhusband will not eat fruit, mushrooms or salmon. (I love everything)
My favorite family cooking traditions
None eally. We cook meals on holidays, but that's about all.
My cooking triumphs
Getting my son to eat spinach and everytime I time my meals so everything is ready at the same time.
My cooking tragedies
Nothing really tragic. I have overcooked a few things, but noting too memorable.

Quinoa and Black Beans
This was really great and very versatile. I think next time I'll add some more citrus and some diced tomatoes. Sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, really any veggie you can think of would be wonderful.

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing
I doubled this recipe. OMG it was so good. I usually just buy the Betty Crocker icing, but decided to get a little "fancy" for my oldest son's 7th birthday. This icing is so good. Will definitely be making this for all my cakes in the future!

North Carolina-Style Pulled Pork
This is a really delicious recipe. I am from the North, so I'm used to BBQ sauce in my BBQ. When i first moved to NC I totally didn't expect the vinegar based BBQ that I was served. It really grew on me though. Now that I am pregnant I have been craving it and decided to give it a shot using this recipe. I did cook in my slow cooker, but other than that i followed the ingredient list. I cooked it in the slow cooker on high for 2 hours and then reduced it to low for another 6 hours. The result was delicious and I have never used another recipe for home made pulled pork since.
