Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
I doubled the "liquid" (butter & milk) and still felt that these potatoes could use a little something more... I just couldn't put my finger on what. In a rush I served them anyway for Thanksgiving. Everyone thought they were amazing. I made twice as much as I THOUGHT I needed and they were gone before left over time. I'd say it's a good traditional recipe. Not fancy or over the top... just a good hearty recipe.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
Made this cake exactly the way the recipe calls for. Okay, one thing, I changed chocolate chips in for peanut butter chips and traded the powdered sugar topping for caramel icing. It was simply amazing. Great recipes. Follow it to the letter, achieve great results. Or mix it up JUST A LITTLE BIT and still get amazing cake. GREAT JOB!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
This recipe is awesome. Best Mac and Cheese on the planet. Only thing I changed was the topping. I use Cheddar Jack Cheez-its and a little bit less butter so they dont get so soggy. Ive made this countless times now. It works really well for get togethers and potluck dinners etc. Everyone raves about it. Kudos to whoever Chuck is.

Maple Dill Carrots

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
This is a GREAT dish. I broke the "don't try new recipes on Thanksgiving" rule for this one. We we're lacking on the number of side dishes we had so I picked out a few recipes from my favorite site (allrecipes FTW) and headed to the grocery store. These were super easy to make, not too expensive, and DELICIOUS! They were actually my favorite dish this Thanksgiving. I used regular carrots on a mandolin to make sure they were all the same thickness and simmered until they were tender. There was LOTS of water left but the carrots were done so I went ahead and strained them off. Threw the butter in the warm pan and stirred all the other ingredients in with it. Put the carrots in and mixed it up. Then I couldn't stop eating them. Our short guest list loved them. They were fancy and pretty enough for a nice meal but would work as a side for near anything. And to think... I thought nothing could top regular old carrots and brown sugar!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
Ive made this chili probably 50 times if not more. Its hands down the best chili recipe Ive come across. I started out following the recipe to the letter. As I got comfortable with it, which didnt take long because its as easy as they get, I started altering the ingredients and whatnot to suit my taste or mood or budget, whatever. This one is pretty hard to screw up. It just tastes good no matter what you do to it. I even had a vegetarian version that I made for a while that the most manliest of men enjoyed. I get rave reviews every time I make this stuff. Seriously, this recipe belongs in everyone's arsenal.
