While my mom was visitng us, I had occasion to eat at an Irish Pub for lunch while we were on our way to see one sight or another.  Now, a pub is not a place you generally find lots of "healthy" food choices, so as I focused on the salad choices, I also asked about the soup choices.  The… MORE

Well, my first batch, which was one potato, was fine.  Today, I decided to mix it up a bit and try a few things.  Trial and error teaches a great many things, let me tell you.Creativity is when you get it right, experimenting is when things go wrong. Okay, so, first I decided to use the next… MORE

Okay, I have been really, REALLY good the past month on my new adventure, but I have been craving, absolutely CRAVING potato chips.  And when you think of eating healthy, they are not even o the alternate list of okay to have once a year. Until now. I decided to try a recipe I found for… MORE

You betcha!! Okay, I believe I mention in my original post or in my bio, that my parents are from the North.  My mom is actually from New England, and as a kid growing up, it was not infrequent that we would have New England Clam Chowder.  It is possibly one of my favorite soups.  But eating… MORE

That is the Question!I admit it -- I love meat, particularly red meat.  I'm a carnivore and proud of it!  So I am always a bit suspect of "vegans" and their meat-free ways.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good salad, and I've even gone meatless for a day (but those days are few and far… MORE

The quick & easy answer: No.  Now, that being said, my wife had a meeting tonight, and I was not going to be leaving my job early, so we expected to cross paths at the door at home.  Except, things are never that easy.  She was not going to have time to cook for the kids before she left, and… MORE

Just thought I'd tell people about the leftovers from the Turkey Burgers. So, I had a few burgers left, and put them in the fridge.  Next day, I pulled a couple out for lunch -- one for me, one for my wife.  I microwaved them, but before putting them in, I poured a little teryaki marinade on… MORE

Seeing as the World Series just wrapped up yesterday, I couldn't resist the title -- my apologies to any that I may have offended with a poor pun. Tonight I made my first attempt at turkey burgers -- the verdict?  Not bad.  And I will make them again. So, what was my recipe? 20oz 93/7 Lean… MORE

I've been told by many friends that they absolutely salivate when they see meals I post on Facebook.  Most of my friends have had a meal cooked by me at one time or another.  It has been suggested many times that I should make a blog about my cooking, and so since AllRecipes.com is my… MORE

About Me
I've been cooking since I was a young kid, and have always enjoyed cooking (and eating) a good meal. Grew up in The South, but my family was all from the north; I have always loved Southern foods, but I like a very wide variety of things. Cooking is a way for me to relax, be creative, and try new things.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite food is soup -- any kind of soup really, I have yet to find one I wouldn't eat! Soup is easy and you can always tweak a recipe for personal tastes by simply mixing up the spices or adding some things. And a good bowl of warm soup is just great on a chilly day! I also enjoy grilling (what man doesn't?), and if there is a way to cook it on a grill, either I have tried it, or I am willing to give it a go!
