Making piroshki for Christmas
About this Cook
Now cooking for my 91 y/o father, so creativity is somewhat limited. Made and canned strawberry, plum and blackberry jam this past summer for the first time and loved it!
My favorite things to cook
I grew my first garden in years this past summer and love using anything I grow myself! Right now I have pieces of a 13 pound Blue Hubbard squash roasting in the oven.

This was really easy and very good. My picky 90 year old dad even ate two! I followed the recipe exactly and dipped the spoon in the hot stew before and between dropping the dough in. Loved it!

Leftover Chicken Croquettes
Pretty good; nice and chickeny considering all the bread crumbs. I needed three eggs and added celery, bell pepper and garlic to the saute. Used a generous sprinkling of seasoned salt. Served with barbecue sauce. Dad loved them...ate the whole thing!

Sweet Polish Sausage
I made this for a potluck and came home with an empty dish :-). I only simmered the (fully cooked) sausage for about 30 minutes and used the cooking water in the sauce (skimming off the fat). I also threw in two cloves of minced garlic and used a bit more hot sauce. Oh, and Splenda blend brown sugar because my Dad's diabetic. It received raves from the party goers!
