If we did not raise it ourselves or barter for it we did not eat it. (Except at church of course) OMG!Pork Steaks w/sweet onion gravey, mashed potatoes, mustard greens,cornbread and home made pickles. Southern, right down to my big bottom!!! Introducing folks to the finer points of Southern cooking. Watching their faces go from mistrust to, "OMG" when tasting a dish they have never dared to try. i.e. Fried apples, southern cooked yellow summer squash, chicken gizzards w/dumplings, etc. Setting the oven on fire when the bottom of the foil pan tore out of Thanksgiving turkey.
