Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
awesome! my hubby is probably about to go into sugar shock but claims he'll die happy. I made the dough in my bread machine and it was glossy and very easy to work with after the rest. made in two cake pans lined with parchment and froze one pan. my oven must be running hot as they were a bit over browned but double thumbs up. Instead of raisens i used currants and instead of making frosting i used store bought creamcheese frosting to finish the tub. will def make again as they were very easy and delish

After-Christmas Turkey Potpie

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
Awesome leftover use! I did not have a problem with my piecrust not getting done enough... but i always butter my pie pans so it helped crisp the bottom crust. i did use regular cream of mushroom as i dont tend to keep golden mushroom in the house and i also added a little poultry rub to the flour i tossed the turkey in... everyone loved it and hubby had seconds and already claimed the leftover leftovers for lunch tomorrow!

Pastry for Double Pie-Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
this is the same crust my mother and grandmother taught me to make from memoery only i could not for the life of me remember the exact ration of fat to flour.... short of calling a distant time zone at an ungodly hour i allreciped it and it turned out EXACTLY as i wanted... i used it to make a deep dish double crust pot pie for thanksgiving leftovers

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I made the pineapple upside down cake variation and it turned out great.... EVEN though i had to scale down the recipe and made only half. hardly any cake recipes can stand being cut in half and still come out fluffy and moist as well as perfectly risen! its a keeper

Microwave Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
this recipe turned out fine in terms of texture but it took some serious work to get the sauce thickened enough. our complaint was that it simply wasnt 'chocolatey' enough for our tasted and i found it a little sweet(hubby however would have liked more sugar but nothing new there) if we make this again its going to need more cocoa and perhaps some chocolate chips or something... it rose nicely and the texture was pleasent... not a bad recipe at all just in need of some adjustment in this house...thanks for posting it :)

Chewy Cocoa Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
I only gave it four stars because i did alter the recipe. 1c light brown sugar instead of the called for white... a full cup of cocoa and in order to please my turtle loving hubby i added caramel pieces to the batter and put the nuts on top.... this was rated the best ever brownie recipe and was transferred to the keep box. in fact im making a second batch after three requests and a trip to the store for more eggs... also great topped with a chocolate ganache

Maple Bacon Pancake

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
My family loved this! I made it pretty much as the recipe says except :- i used half turkey bacon and i mixed half the total bacon (mixed turkey and regular) into the batter with the cheese. It was fabulous! hubby went back for seconds even though i'd served it with scrambled eggs! we're going to try freezing the remaining wedges for a quick meal in the week! thanks!

Tipperary Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
a lovely recipe, simple and just sweet enough what a pity they are neither scottish (Tipperary is in Ireland... conveniently in County Tipperary just like the VERY well known song) nor traditional for Tipperary as i don't know anywhere in either country known for its cherries. still a very nice sweet treat though
