English Royalty Chocolate Chip Scones

These were very good, like other reviewers I used 8T orange juice and 8T of butter plus the zest off of about 3/4 of the orange which gave a very nice orange flavor. I used regular size chocolate chips which worked just fine. I rolled the dough out then used a pizza cutter to cut into 8 triangles and then laid the triangles out onto the cookie sheet to bake. Will make again!

Garlic Croutons

Blueberry Lemon Bread

This bread is so good. I added an extra 1/2 lemon worth of lemon juice to the bread and a little extra lemon zest. I omitted the glaze for the top of the bread to cut back on some of the sugar and also because the bread is so good by itself that I don't think it really needs the glaze. Will make again :)

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I just used butter in place of the shortening (so 1c. butter total), baked them for about 11 minutes and they were still nice and soft when they cooled off. I love the cloves in this cookie, but may increase the amount used next time as you can not taste it as distinctly once the cookie is baked. If you think this implies that I tried it in dough form as well....then you'd be correct :) You just can't resist! Will definitely make these again.

Creamy Rice Pudding

This is so good! Very creamy and delicious. Like everyone else, I added a couple of pinches each of cinnamon and nutmeg, and tempered the egg to prevent scrambling. I think I'm going to have to double the recipe next time :)

Southwestern Egg Rolls

These things are amazing. We served them with guacamole and sour cream for dipping for those who desired to do so. I used 8" tortilla shells (because that's what we had in the fridge) and doubled the filling mixture, if you do this don't overstuff the tortillas or the outside cooks faster than the filling and you end up with a barely warm center. Keeping them the diameter as shown on the picture probably works best. I cut back just a little bit on the amount of jalapeno used and it had just the right amount of kick. Can't wait for football season to roll around so I have an excuse to make them more often!

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

This recipe was really good but did need added herbs and garlic. I sauteed 1 minced clove of garlic with the onions and sausage, and I added about a palm full of Italian seasoning and oregano as well as 2 cloves of minced garlic to the sauce and it turned out great. Thanks!

Butter Icing for Sugar Cookies

I followed the suggestion of a reviewer on the cream cheese sugar cookie recipe to use this butter icing recipe but replacing the vanilla extract with 1 tsp. of almond extract and then I thinned it out using an additional 2 to 3 T. of milk to get the consistancy I wanted, soooo good on the sugar cookies.
