Butter Bean Veggie Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
I thought this soup was magnificent and we are soup people. Perfect spices. Could pass as gourmet. Will serve it for company and pass it off with a fancy name. Thanks. It's a lovely recipe.

Apricot Noodle Kugel

Made this kugel for Mother's Day. Got rave reviews. It will probably be the only "sweet" kugel I'll make from now on. Thank you so much.

Clam Sauce with Linguine

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
Take this wonderful recipe, double the garlic, add a bit of red pepper flakes and a splash of lemon juice or white wine and open your own Italian restaurant. Served with a good wine, salad and Italian bread, this approaches heaven. Yes, it's that good. And I'm Italian.

French Onion Soup VIII

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
Onions never did get brown, not even after an hour. I thought it was a fair recipe, but too sweet, too much basil and not enough salt. Added some soy sauce, as well as a little thyme. Makes enough for 3 servings. Not bad at all, but not great.

I thought this was marvelous just as it is. Hardly heart-smart, but so darn good!

Chef John's Chicken and Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2014
I could not give this 5 stars because like many others, I halved the pepper(s)amounts and omitted herbes de Provence(didn't have). Topped with my own homemade biscuits. It's a marvelous recipe, but very time-consuming. If you have that rainy morn or afternoon and are in your cooking mood, you can't go wrong. Give it 3-1/2 hours. Even with the time involved, it's lovely. But then again, I think I'm in love with Chef John.
