Marinated Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2004
I took this to a party and it was a big hit. I did make a few minor changes. I substituted diced sundried tomatoes for the pimento and used 1-1/2 tsp minced fresh basil. I also used cheddar and monterey jack cheese. I want to try mozzarella and other cheeses next time.

Alla Checca

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2004
Excellent recipe. Like many others, I served it with a nice spring mix salad and a crusty french bread. It made an excellent light summer meal. My husband liked it even though there wasn't any meat in the sauce. The only thing I did different was to decrease the oil to approximately 1/4 cup. I think it would also be good with some olives added to it also. Definitely a keeper.

Broccoli and Provolone Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2006
I made this for a wedding brunch and it was a big hit. Everyone loved it. The only thing I did different was use half & half instead of heavy cream. I would make it again.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
Very good cheesecake recipe. To prevent cracking place the cheesecake in another pan with 1" of water during baking. The steam helps to keep it from cracking. Also, turn the oven off when it is still jiggling in the middle, not completely set. The reason they crack is because they overcook.

Parmesan Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
I made this recipe except I did not add the lecithin and made it by hand rather than dig out the bread machine. I did mix one clove of crushed garlic into the dough and I decreased the oil drizzled on top significantly - at least by half. After reading the reviews I baked this in two 9" cake pans and it came out beautifully. I served it with Italian butter for our lasagna dinner and everyone loved it. I would make it again

Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
I brought this to work for a brunch during the holidays and it was a huge hit. I had several people ask me for the recipe. The only thing I did different was use sharp cheddar instead of mild. I made it again at Christmas and used frozen hash browns. I made the sausage mixture except for the eggs the night before then refrigerated it and the frozen hash browns. The next morning I made the hash brown crust, added the eggs to the sausage mixture and assembled. I had to cook it an additional 5-10 minutes but it made it quick and easy for the hectic morning.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
I made this for Easter then brought the leftover to work. Everyone loved it. The only thing I did different was to make 1-1/2 batches of the frosting then I cut the cake in half and made a two layer square cake. One woman at work even told me it was "as good as Mom's"

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
The first time I made this I did as the instructions said except I eliminated the salt. It was good. The second time I added some dried minced garlic and and onion to it when it simmered then thickened the juices for gravy. We liked it the first time but the second time really made the difference. We don’t eat a lot of salt so this was perfect as it was without that additional salt added.
