Potato Latkes I

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
Not a bad base recipe. Good, but a bit bland for my tastes, and that was with using more onion than actually called for. I'll have to play around with the spices next time I make them. I didn't have peanut oil, so I used olive oil instead.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
I think I finally found the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. Soft and chewy without tasting underdone.

Ham and Veggie Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
Changed some of the veggies used for personal preference. Not sure what went wrong, but it came out with a layer of liquid in the bottom of the pan. This needs to be served as part of a larger meal; it is not enough to be one, which a quiche really should be.

Quick Skillet Chicken and Macaroni Parmesan

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
This was a big hit, and it reheats well, which is always important for our small family.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
Two changes- I used slightly more spice than what was called for and added in chocolate chips which turned it into exactly the taste of a recipe I was trying to replace. Sealed in a tin, these stayed completely fresh and moist for the week it took from them to be gone.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
Very good. The chicken came out moist and tender and the parmesan and garlic mixture gave it just enough flavor to not be bland but light enough to easily pair it with a side dish. One thing I will change next time is to not mix the cheeses with the breadcrumbs, non of that stuck to the chicken during dipping so would probably be best just to sprinkle over the chicken. 4 stars because it didn't reheat well, and leftovers are important in this house.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
As others have said, I had some problems with the sauce not getting thick, but as I served with rice I just used it as a sauce for that. The only thing I changed was to lay off the hot sauce; I'm not a fan of overly spicy foods so I only used a little bit. Will be making this again.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
Really amazing. The only thing I would change is that the 1/4 a cup of coffee really isn't enough, I'll be changing that to a 1/2 cup next time.

I've been making these cookies for some time now. For an added treat, roll the dough around a chocolate star.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
Wonderful flavor to this, I'll be making it again. Did make a couple of changes: I didn't bother peeling the potatoes and I added some shredded cheddar after it was cooked. There's also a bit much broth for my tastes, so I'll be using less liquid next time.

Granny's Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
Made this up today to use some up some bananas I had that were past the point of being eaten. I've never been a fan of banana bread, and it tastes wonderful to me. I used two smaller loaf pans and shortened the time to 30 minutes. I also added a bit more spice and a slightly less sugar.
