About this Cook
I love to try lots of new recipes and am always look for great new recipes. I also like to make adjustments, add new things, and try new flavors. I like being inventive with recipes and would like to invent some of my own recipes soon.
My favorite things to cook
The things I most like to cook are probably sweet breads, muffins, casseroles, or a stir-fried supper. I also like to experiment with cakes and pies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Something that we love to make for THanksgiving is a Bing Cherry Jello Salad that's a great mixture of cherry jello, bing cherries, pineapple, and cream cheese. MMM... Another new Christmas tradition is fresh cinnamon rolls with a caramel sauce and cream cheese frosting.
My cooking tragedies
One of the worst tragedies I ever had were these brownies that I burnt to a crisp. They were so flat and hard as a rock. Another one was a layer cake I made. The cake was delicious but when I was trying to layer it I tried to take the top one off and it crumbled. Also the frosting was a little runny too. The pieces didn't stay together very well.

New York Cheesecake III
This was pretty good. I think because I made some modifications it didn't taste as good as it would have. Instead of 2 1/2 pounds of cream cheese I used a lot less so it wasn't as cream cheesy as people would like, although I'm not a huge cheesecake fan. I think next time I make it I make it with all of the cream cheese. It still served about 15-16 people.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread
This recipe was really good! I tried the suggested streusel recipe by cookiequeen and that made it even better. I doubled the recipe but reduced the sugar to 3 cups. 2 1/2 c. white and 1/2 c. brown sugar. It was still plenty sweet and really moist with 5 cups of grated zucchini. Next time I might make it with honey and applesauce to replace some of the oil!
