Famous Pork Chops

I'll have to try this recipe again. My chops came out pretty tender (I used a meat tenderizer to smash them since they were pretty thick) but they were not really flavorful- I might try brining them before cooking next time. The crust also was soggy, even though I followed other's advice and removed the foil the last 15 min, and even tried broiling them for a while. Not a bad start though. I did press some fresh garlic and mixed it in with the crumbs, which was tasty! Next time I think I'll add more seasonings to the crumbs.

Banana Cream Pie I

This recipe is fabulous- I've made it twice, and it disappeared within seconds both times. Even my really picky boyfriend loves this pie! I followed other reviewer's recommendations: I used half flour and half corn starch (about 3 TBSP each), used 3 small bananas, didn't bake, and chilled overnight. The second time I made with storebought pie crust which was ok, but definitely better with homemade. Next time I will try with vanilla wafer crust. Thanks for this wonderful recipe!

Pizza Crust for Bread Machine

One of the better recipes I've tried. When I made it as-is, it came out way too wet (about pancake batter consistency), so make sure you don't walk away from the bread machine in case you need to add more flour. It did come out with a lovely flavor and consistency that was easy to stretch out. One recipe made enough dough for an extra large pizza. The texture was soft and not as chewy as I would have liked, but that's hard to come by in homemade pizza dough. I will be trying this recipe again!

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

I made this today for St. Patrick's Day, and it was a hit. The flavor was delicious, and the texture was much more like one giant biscuit than a loaf of bread. I substituted butter for the margarine, and used buttermilk powder in place of fresh buttermilk. Worked great and assembled pretty easily.

Blonde Brownies I

These came out pretty dry for me. I followed the recipe, the only change was doubling the batch and baking in a 9x13 pan, and turned down the temp in my oven because it bakes hot. Next time I will double and still use the 9x9 pan to make them thicker, and leave out the baking soda to make them less cakey.

Denise's Peanut Chicken

Definitely a great recipe. I forgot to double the sauce, but I can see why everyone recommended it! I added some smooth peanut butter and a little curry powder to the sauce, then added green peas and chickpeas at the end; served over cilantro rice, it was delicious. The chile powder added just the right amount of heat; I would double the sauce ingredients next time, but do 1 1/2x the broth.
