Ginger Snaps IV

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
I didn't have any cloves, but I substituted with an equal amount of allspice. The cookies came out a little overdone, but I don't have an oven thermometer so I can't be sure if it is the fault of the recipe or if my oven cooks too hot. Overall these cookies are delicious!

Sweet Potato Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
Delicious! A touch too sweet for my tastes, but I admittedly eat less sugar than the average person, so I won't complain. Otherwise a fabulous recipe!

Love the Mama Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
I agree, the lemon part needs to be doubled, but even so, these bars were delicious!

Cinnamon Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
A fantastic pie, but it still remained watery, even after cooling on a pie rack for over an hour. I think I'll cut the milk to a cup next time and see how it comes out.

Buttery Crunch Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
Absolutely delicious. I would make this crust again and again; I think it will go quite well with a pumpkin or sweet potato pie.

Creamy Parsnip With Ginger Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2008
This recipe is delicious, and a good use for some leftover parsnips I had sitting around. Its not quite five-star worthy, but it does come close. I think maybe next time I'll omit the pinch of sugar - its a touch too sweet for my palate otherwise.

Tandoori-Style Grilled Chicken Kebobs

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
Bland and boring, this did not taste like tandoori at all. I gave it two stars because it was still edible, but the recipe is awful.

Roasted Garlic

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
This recipe is too vague concerning preparation, as noted in previous reviews. Do you cut the tops off the garlic or not? Should the husks be removed? Do you want a light coat of oil or a heavy one (which will sautee the garlic more than it roasts it)? This may seem like common sense, but oftentimes people just don't know. Also, I found my garlic was ready (in the same temperature oven) after only 25 minutes. An hour would have burned it horribly!

Easy Tilapia

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
Amazing! I unfortunately didn't have any white wine (and living on a budget I wasn't about to go buy some), but another reviewer recommended substituting chicken broth and it worked wonders. I also left out the salt, feeling the capers did the job just fine. I would give this a five-star rating, but since I had to make a few minor changes I'll stick with four. Kudos!
