Secret Burger Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
This was good, but as others stated, it was more like Thousand Island dressing. I used pickle relish instead of pickles, and did add 1 Tbl. mustard, and that helped some, but I think I will keep looking for the recipe I had in mind.

Special Irish Beef Stew

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
This was great, but I had to make a couple of changes (had ideas from another very similar recipe) to make it more flavorful. First, toss the beef in 3/4 tsp. pepper and 1 1/2 tsp. salt before cooking it. Use 1 Tbl. olive oil instead of 2 tsp. vegetable oil, and add a bay leaf to the onions, garlic, and mushrooms, cook until onions are wilted (not brown), THEN add the beef and brown it. Pour the beer over the tomato paste in a small bowl, let the foam subside, stir well, THEN add it to the beef mixture (no beef broth needed at all). Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, THEN add potato wedges (not diced - or they get too mushy) and baby carrots. Continue cooking for 45 minutes. Follow the cornstarch step as written. Perfect! Now I have the recipe online. Thanks for sharing yours!

Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
This was wonderful, and so easy. I used pre-cooked, seasoned chicken breasts to save time (left off the butter since they were already cooked). I used an entire 1-lb. package of frozen broccoli (needed more veggies), and egg noodles instead of spaghetti (easier to eat). I would suggest mixing the soup, milk, and pepper in a separate bowl before adding to the remaining ingredients (easier to incorporate the soup that way). Thanks for the recipe!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This was awesome! I omitted the red pepper flakes (don't like super spicy). I was making "Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos" from this site, and didn't have a packet of taco seasoning. I mixed this up in no time, and it was wonderful. Thanks for the recipe!

Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
These were good, but not the "to die for" cookie I expected. I think I prefer regular tollhouse cookies.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
This was great! I was looking for a homemade cake recipe that didn't call for buttermilk or chocolate squares, as I had neither on hand. This did the trick! Thanks for the recipe!

Cake Mix Cookies V

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Fantastic! I added 1 cup white chocolate chips and 1/2 cup macadamia nuts to mine (instead of walnuts). Wow! Took only 5 minutes to put together. Second time I made these, I added 1 1/4 cups mini chocolate chips and no nuts. Awesome! Thanks for the recipe!

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This was wonderful! I added a large bag of frozen (cooked) broccoli, and doubled the sauce (didn't double the ketchup, but DID double the soy sauce). I am a wimp with spicy things, so I omitted the crushed red pepper and added a pinch of cayenne instead (perfect!). I used 2 lbs. of shrimp (i.e., head off, 2 lbs. *before* peeling), and served over jasmine rice. I think next time I will triple the sauce. Thanks so much for the recipe!

Irish Cream Truffle Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
This recipe had wonderful flavor (don't change any ingredients in the recipe!), but I didn't like the fact that it softened when at room temperature. I couldn't serve this, and kept having to refrigerate it, yet if I forgot about it and left it in the refrigerator too long, I couldn't cut it without it crumbling everywhere. Maybe it needs some parrafin? I'm not sure, but I don't think I'll be making it again.

Pumpkin Nog

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
Wasn't a big hit. Needed about 1/2 cup sugar, and I had to make it in batches because not all the milk would fit in the blender. Kids liked it, but adults didn't care for it too much. Don't think I'll be making this again.

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
This was wonderful, and super fast/easy! I doubled the amount of noodles, and would do that again. I also added sliced chicken to make it a meal, and served it with a side of Asian slaw. Thanks for the recipe!

Fiesta Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
This was really good - quite spicy though (I used Rotel brand, and used only 1/2 of the can). Note that you can use fat-free sour cream and it's not even noticed! Thanks for the recipe!

Peanut Crunch Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
SUPER cake! For some reason, I didn't like it the first day - just didn't like the extra peanuts on the top, and didn't like the mixture of sweet and salty. I tried it again the second day, and it was wonderful! Go figure. Guess it just needed time to sit and let the flavors meld. Thanks for the recipe!

These were fantastic! I didn't have any buttermilk on hand, so I used skim milk. Turned out just fine! Thanks for the recipe!

Grilled Lemon Herb Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
These were really good, but too lemony for my taste. I think maybe it would help next time if I don't marinate them overnight. One other thing - I used olive oil because it's much more flavorful than vegetable oil. This dish sure was easy to prepare though. Thanks for the recipe!

Pineapple and Pistachio Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
Wonderful! I, too, didn't have plain yogurt, so I used 2 containers of fat-free vanilla, and used regular instant pistachio pudding. Fat-free Cool Whip (whole 8-oz tub) made it even less fattening, and was great! I did add a bit more pineapple, just as a personal preference. I think next time I'll add a cup of marshmallows, just for a change. Thanks for the recipe!

Hot Bacon Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
Sorry, I didn't much care for this recipe. I cut down the sugar to 1/2 cup, as others suggested, but the end result was just way to vinegary and sugary for my taste. I do like the hot bacon dressings served at restaurants, so I think I'll keep looking.

Smushed Apples and Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
These were delicious! I used more sweet potatoes and apples though. I used 4 sweet potatoes, 2 apples, and 1/4 cup BROWN sugar (just goes better with sweet potatoes). I also added 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, and didn't use any milk (didn't need any). I left the peel on my apples, and would do that again! I beat the potatoes very well (so no lumps), then added the apple mixture. These go super well with pork tenderloin or pork chops. Thanks for the recipe!

Cinnamon Hazelnut Biscotti

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
These were just fabulous!! I covered them with foil during the last 10 minute of baking. After they're done, turn off the oven and let them sit inside until almost cool (check them from time to time to make sure they're not too done). They got nice and crunchy.
