Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
My husband loved this! I used granny smith apples and added nutmeg to the apples. Also I intended to use 1/4 cup of water but I forgot it all together and my husband was glad I did. He says apple crisp can be very runny and that's why he liked this one so much is because it wasn't runny at all. Also added some cinnamon to the crust. I used a bag of granny smith apples (10 smaller ones) and the topping was the perfect amount! Also cut the butter into the topping, added some vanilla, white sugar and just a tad of nutmeg.

Passion Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
These are yummy and so easy. I used milk chocolate chips (I use them over semisweet for everything). Also I microwaved the peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk for like 40 seconds and it turned into like a caramel consistency. I poured it on and tried to spread it around but it lifted up the crust. It did kind of fill out on it's own for the most part. Wasn't a huge deal, I just didn't want to microwave it for too long. Will definitely make these again!

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
This was so good! Perfect summer dessert and I think I like it better than the normal strawberry shortcake. It does need to be eaten pretty quick though cause after sitting in the fridge for a couple days the strawberries get kinda mushy.

Drop Biscuits and Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
Loved this...so quick and easy. The only thing I might change next time is not put so much pepper in. I know the gravy is supposed to be peppery but I think it was just a little too much...not much though.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
OH MY GOSH! YUM! Made them exactly how it's written. Had to give a little away cause me and my husband would have eaten all of these in a short period of time. Next time I will probably freeze some and chop them up and use them in brownies or flurries cause they taste just like Reese Peanut Butter cups but WAY better!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
THESE ARE AMAZING!!!! I've avoiding making these for so long because of the time required to make them but after reading the reviews I will be making these more often! After cutting them into rolls I put them in the fridge until I was ready to bake them in the morning. They were the best breakfast I've ever made and all the hubby could say was WOW! Refrigerated leftovers and they tasted just as good the next day after sticking them in the microwave. Absolutely love these!

Taco Stuffed Shells

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
YUM!!! I had a little more ground beef so I used more than 16 shells. I also used a little over a jar and 1/2 of salsa, it just didn't seem like enough and we used majority of the first jar to cover the bottom of the 9X13 dish, then made sure that all of the shells were completely covered so they wouldn't get hard. Cooked at 350 for 30 minutes, then put cheese and green onions on and backed for another 5 minutes. Will definitely be making this recipe again!!

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
I only rated this a 4 just because I changed it just a little bit. I used olive oil instead of vegetable oil, I only used 1/2 and onion, added a little garlic with the onion, didn't add chicken (just cause I didn't have any) and I didn't use pepper at all. I will admit it didn't have huge flavor but it reminded me of the rice you get at the Japanese restaurants. Next time I will probably add some peas and carrots and chicken but I think it'd be excellent with shrimp too! I will definitely be making this again when I get my Chinese/Japanese cravings, it's so easy!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I'm always looking for a creamy fudge and I think I finally found it! Very good. Definitely use a very sturdy spoon for when your stirring in the chocolate chips because it gets pretty firm. I didn't put in the nuts because I have picky family members, but I did use Heath english toffee pieces and it was awesome and you still get that "crunch." I also think it makes the perfect amount too.

Apple Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
Oh man...this is amazing! This was my first fruit pie that I've ever made. I like to bake and I've made a lot of other pies but I was still a little nervous. I didn't put in raisins, or the walnuts because I dont like raisins and I didn't have any walnuts. I doubled the topping and it was perfect. I almost like this pie more than my Grandma's pie that I've had for years. I will definitely make this over and over again.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
These are amazing. I've always made cookies that come out flat and I'd always wish I would get cookies to come out like these did. They looked just like the picture! I used 3 tsp of vanilla and I did add a little more chocolate chips. You definitely must use real butter. That is what keeps these from going flat. I will never use any other recipe. They tasted amazing and everyone at my husband's work agreed. You must try this, you'll be happy you did!

Grandpa Hubbard's Oatmeal

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
Just made this for breakfast and it was awesome! I've never liked the instant packets but I liked this. I mainly made it for my husband who has been wanting oatmeal for a while and he said it tasted so good. We used Cinnamon Bun creamer from Coffee Mate and it was the perfect amount of cinnamon flavor. I didn't use quite as much creamer as the recipe called for and I'm glad I didn't because it didn't really need it, it had the right amount of sweetness. Will probably be making this alot!

Crabmeat Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
I made these last night when we had people over. I made them the way the recipe called for and also the way ARMYWIFE99 suggested making them and my husband liked them better that way. He said they were awesome when you dipped them in the sweet and sour sauce. I will probably make these again because they went over really well.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
These are awesome! Ours still turned out flat even though we followed other reviews and increased flour, baking soda and decreased the salt but we didn't care cause they still tasted awesome. I even got my husband to help out! It was interesting because he made our cookies huge but thats ok we had fun!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
I've been making this bread for quite a while and its awesome! I mash the bananas because you get more of the banana flavor plus the sliced bananas don't look very attractive. I've also added milk chocolate chips which was very good. This time I add cinnamon and I sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on top...its in the oven right now. I hardly ever throw away over ripe bananas now.
