Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
This is amazing!!! I love chili and wanted to finally make my own. In search of chili recipes and reading over many of them, this recipe caught my eye and I thought to give it a try...thank goodness I did. My husband is not a big fan of chili and he was loving every taste. I mostly used the ingredients as stated, but I did do a few modifications. Instead of Tomato juice, I substituted it with tomato sauce and subbed the tomato sauce with diced tomatoes. I used kidney beans and red beans (next time I will try a mix with black beans). I added 1/4 cup of cornmeal as suggested by a previous reviewer because I love thick chili. Also, I added 4 pieces of cooked bacon (which I cooked in the skillet and once it was done, I added the bacon grease to the ground beef while I was browning the meat) and a tablespoon of Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce. This was a wonderful recipe and I can't wait to make this again for my family and friends.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
Delicious!!! Did everything as said plus added onion slices to the crock pot, a dash of oregano and paprika, minced garlic, and seasoned chicken with pepper and sazon seasoning. Used 4 chicken breasts instead of 6 which cut down the ingredients by a little. I will definitely make this again.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
This recipe is awesome!! I cooked this for my husband, mom, brother, and his girlfriend. They couldn't stop saying how great it was. My husband was mad that I didn't have any left overs lol. The only thing I changed was not adding any hot sauce and chili sauce, I added a half of an onion (sliced) into the crock pot, substituting the 2 cups of ketchup to Jack Daniels BBQ sauce and the 1 cup of chili sauce to the ketchup. Instead of salt and pepper, I put pepper, 1 packet of sazon seasoning, and garlic and onion powder to the ribs. This was absolutely delicious!

Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
I rated it a 5 star because the way I made it, came out excellent!!! I used 2 cans of soup: 1 chicken soup and 1 mushroom soup. Instead of cooking the chicken in the microwave I cooked it in a skillet, used 2 tbs of veggie oil and cooked it until white on both sides then added: salt, black pepper, minced garlic, garlic salt, and onion powder. The chicken came out excellent with so much flavor. I also used not only sharp chedder but 4 cheeses. I did use the bread crumbs but sprinkled it with butter and I put italian bread crumbs too. My whole family loved it and my fiance ate all of my left overs ;-)
