Mom's Simple Dumplings

Very simple and yummy. Made it for chicken and dumplings. My kids like it better than baking powder biscuits--it's easier and faster too! Definitely a keeper. Thanks!

Cream of Fresh Asparagus Soup II

This is the best cream of asparagus I have ever had minus too much salt. Next time I will had 1 tsp. instead of 2 tsp. It was delicious!!! I saved the tips of the asparagus, steamed separately and added at the very end. I never blend those. They are too yummy!

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

This was very good. I melted 1 cube of salted butter in fresh minced garlic (added more garlic than calls for)and warmed it. Then rolled in the butter/garlic mixture, then in the parmesan/bread crumb mix. Added more parmesan less bread crumbs. Peppered it with coarse pepper. Didn't sprinkle with salt because the butter is salted and the parmesan is salted. It was delicious.

Spanish Rice II

I found this recipe a little dry and missing a true spanish rice flavor. I would try adding a can of tomato sauce and possibly a can of green chiles. It's lacking something.

Cream of Asparagus Soup I

This soup is delicious. Instead of chicken boillon I used McCormick powder poultry/turkey gravy mix. It adds the same flavor to me w/out the salt flavor and adds a little thickening. I saved the tops (steamed them) and added them to the soup in the end. I would also add a less water and more cream. But, if you're watching calories, it's great. Will definitely make again.

Shredded Pork Sandwiches

This was good. I enjoyed the flavor of the sauce. I used thick pork chops from Costco/Sams Club and doubled the sauce and cooked it in the crock pot for 6 hours on high. It was fork tender and fell apart. I added a chopped onion in the crock pot with the sauce. It calls for way too much water. It's questionable whether I would add any water by the time you add the other ingredients. It needs a little kick (maybe add some chili powder or something), but for kids it's really good. I liked it better the next day because it has time to sit and flavors to blend. Will make again, but add less water and maybe give it some kick
