About this Cook
I am an energetic Mom of four. I have a passion for cooking healthy food for my kids, but have been entangled in an unhealthy relationship with chocolate for six years :)
My favorite things to cook
I try to trump my Mom's classics. It's a secret challenge only I know about :) Mostly homemade soups, stews, breads, you know...mom stuff!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking bread the way my Nan used to; with a hankerchief around my hair and an apron on :) I love the smell in our home when I make bread.
My cooking triumphs
Ham chowder - sounds like yuck but it's the best thing you'll ever eat :)
My cooking tragedies
I still couldn't decorate a cake if my life depended on it :( You'd think after four kids, one might have that nailed!

Molasses Cookies
SO so so good. Rave reviews from all at my house! Super easy too!

Banana Banana Bread
really good and easy, I put coconut and flax seed in it too as someone else had said it was too moist. I think next time I'll stick to the recipe. It was a little too dry my way.

Strawberry Rhubarb Cream Pie
I followed the recipe exactly and it overflowed ALL over my oven - even into the drawer below. I had it on a cookie sheet too :( The pie tasted fantastic but my afternoon consisted of scrubbing, scrubbing and more scrubbing.
