I have been baking since I was in elementary school and have always had a knack for it. When I grew up and moved away, I got to experiment my way of cooking and improved upon. Few people complain about my cooking and those that do usually complain because I used "something wierd" (like barley!) I've managed and then owned a restaurant. I have 6 children and a big husband.
My favorite things to cook
Do I have to clean it up? Well, some of the things are: Three Cheese Pasta, Jambalaya Pasta, Cookies, Bread, things for teas...Love that!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving and Christmas has a few requirements: Green bean Casserole, Turkey and Dressing, lots of cookies. We like to have teas with the children, special for each one, even the boys!
My cooking triumphs
Managing and Owning the restaurant! But I also had a recipe that I thought was pretty awesome that I submitted to a Mr. Food Contest: Teri's Throw Together. It was designed to use up a bunch of leftovers in the fridge and it tasted different from each of the times before because the leftovers are different! Also learning how to cook Southern, and New Orleans style...and making picky people happy, too. I make a cheese cake to die for and my husband always brags on that.
My cooking tragedies
When I was a kid, I burned more than my share of cookies, but my dad still ate them anyway! I cannot make homemade chili, spaghetti sauce...which is really tragic, but we all have our "thing," right? I've never burned a house down!
