The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Great tasting batter that fries up nicely in texture! Used expeller-pressed canola oil instead of shortening and it still tastes wonderful!

Banana Cream Pie I

Made my own pie crust to go with it--very yummy! Used 1% milk, 1/8 tsp salt, 1 1/2 Tbs butter and the 3 Tbs of cornstarch. I also decreased the amount of sugar a tad bit. Next time, and there WILL be a next time, I will decrease the sugar to 1/2 c. like others have suggested. Thanks for the great recipe, Ruby!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Used half brown sugar, omitted the nuts, added mixed berries and baked in a 8x8 pyrex dish--yum! Super moist bread with a nice brown top!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Not what I expected. Followed the recipe exactly except for a tiny bit of mustard powder. We all thought that the cottage cheese and sour cream were interesting. Reminds me of a buffet mac and cheese--sorry, everyone who had it thought it was "meh" in taste.

Veggie Burgers

This is a really simple, good recipe for veggie burgers. I made only a couple small changes: I didn't have cheddar, so I subbed Monterrey jack and I used a rolled grain mix (oats, wheat, barley). Thanks for posting!

Bread Pudding II

Really good! Left out the raisins and added extra spices. Also threw in another slice of bread and upped the milk by 2 tablespoons. Will make again.

Parmesan Corn Chowder

Great chowder! I did make a few changes though--I upped the amount of onion to a heaping half cup, decreased the amount of parmesan to a half cup, and added a generous sprig of chopped fresh thyme.

Miss Betty's Super Quick Dinner Rolls

I give it points for being a fast, last minute "bread", but I wasn't a fan of the taste. They were fluffy and more biscuit like, but still made a nice accompaniment to a potato corn chowder.
