Holly's Hummus

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
Fast and easy, as I had no tahini on hand but unfortunately I didn't like the taste of this recipe. Perhaps because of the olives...but still gave it 3 stars for ease of the recipe...and I love trying new things and I also love ANY olive! I was sad that I didn't like this one so much.

Creamy Peanut Towers

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
I modified it to use whole wheat bread, organic peanut butter, and banana slices or strawberry slices for the sweetness. Much more tastier and very healthy!

Potluck Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
So easy and nice presentation for dinner parties or to take as an appetizer for a potluck! I do add a few changes:I sprinkle a small amount of italian seasoning to the filling, and I roll the dough like a jelly roll. I then spread egg white over the top of the dough for a nice, shiny and golden look. Perfecto!

Easy, Eggless Strawberry Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
This tastes exactly like the ice-cream my Grandfather used to make for us when he was alive, circa 1970's! A taste of nostalgia and heaven! I never add the food coloring, and sometimes use whole milk and half & half if I don't have the heavy cream. I make this all summer long and my guests always want the (simple) recipe. Thanks!

Kalamata Olive Tapenade

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
This is the best tapenade EVER! I have made this several times and everyone loves it and asks for the recipe. Those who aren't familiar with tapenade love it, and those who love tapenade think mine tastes like the upscale restaurant's version! Thanks so much for sharing!

Excellent recipe! The only changes I made was adding some red wine and I doubled the spices. Healthy without sacrificing taste!

Lemon Meringue Pie III

A wonderful recipe for filling! It is definately worth making it this way vs. the lemon Jell-o recipe. I added a lot of extra lemon zest to make it very tasty! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

White Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
I thought it had too much onion...next time I will use just a half of a med. onion. I also added a small can of green chiles and about 6 oz. corn b/c I thought it was just a tad bit bland for us, but great recipe for the kids...just add the chiles and jalapenos after serving the kids. I also cooked it in a slow cooker on low for a few hours. I always like chili in the slow cooker.

Black Bean Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Friday night is taco night and this was a wonderful surprise to my husband and small children. I always make the kids a small batch without the cumin, chili powder, and green chiles. I added ro-tel instead of plain tomatoes, and a few jalapeno rings, diced to ours. So scrumptious, we'll make again and again! A real keeper!

Todd's Famous Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
THE BEST pancakes I have ever made! My husband and children raised their eyebrows and asked for many, many more! Definately double the recipe when making...there can never be enough of these. I also didn't wait very long to start cooking them, perhaps just 15 minutes. I would give 10 stars if I could. Gourmet all the way. :)

Beezie's Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Wonderful recipe! It is easily modified when cleaning out your refrigerator...be creative! I added some leftover mexi-corn, a red pepper, and forgot the rice, but this recipe is so tasty no matter what! I made extra and freezed it...it will be wonderful pureed into a sauce over cheese enchiladas. I plan to make again and again! Thanks for sharing!

Country Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Excellent recipe! I modified mine a bit, though. I didn't have any cream of celery soup or gravy, so I used a can of cream of chicken soup, and made my own gravy. 1 1/4 c. cold water, 1/2 c. flour, and 3 chick. bouillion cubes. I arranged half of the potatoes in the bottom of a 9x13 pan, sprinkled 1/2 of the ham, and a few of the onions, and then topped with 1 c. cheese. I repeated with the remainder of the potatoes and other ingredients, then topped with another cup of cheese and carefully poured the milk, gravy, soup mixture over all of it. I covered and baked at 400 degrees for 30 min, then removed the foil and baked at 375 degrees for another 30 minutes. HUGE HIT!!!

Albondigas

It was a good recipe. It reminded me of a kicked up slow cooker meat/potatoes/carrots. Might add some cumin and a can of ro-tel next time to kick it up a notch.

Great recipe! I always add a package of brown gravy mix to the cold water before I cook it in the crock pot. Makes a wonderful gravy. My children love it over mashed potatoes!
