About this Cook
I am the busy mother of 2 adorable kids. I work part time as a Christian Education Director. I love to cook. I am inherently a people-pleaser and this is one way I can do that. Sometimes I flop majorly...but I always learn something!
My favorite things to cook
Lasagne rolls, trying new things with chicken (my family love chicken so it is hard to keep things interesting), Balsamic flank steak, fried chicken, Thanksgiving Dinner, I make a mean salsa, cupcakes, roasted potatoes, I like experimenting with gravies and sauces, spaghetti and meatballs.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother was the best homestyle cook. We loved staying at her house as kids! As hard as I try, her cooking cannot be duplicated! My 5 year old daughter loves to help "cook", which basically means eating whatever we are cooking as we do it. That is totally fine since we get to spend time together.
My cooking triumphs
I held an anniversary party for my inlaws for about 30 people doing all the food myself. The usual appetizers, champagne punch, bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms, my balsamic flank steak, cupcakes and more. It was a proud moment for me! It was a huge hit. Just recently I had to prepare a meal on short notice for my confirmands and their families. I went to my trusty lasagne rolls and they were a huge hit! Everyone asked me where I bought them. It was a proud moment when I could say that I did them.
My cooking tragedies
Oh man, I have burnt more than my share of food. The worst was probably my first Thanksgiving that I cooked. I spilled some stuffing in my oven and it caught on fire and burned. My whole house smelled like burnt food and was smoke filled when my guests arrived.

Champagne Cake I
Made this for a formal family reception for my mom's Vegas wedding. It was great. I overcooked it thought :-) It had an interesting but distinct champagne taste. So great!

Honey Garlic BBQ Sauce II
This was fantastic. Followed the recipe to a T..as I hate people who change the them and still review the original. I LOVED this. My husband grilled some pork loin and we basted it with this and then warmed some to serve over the sliced loin. Was insane! Made a huge batch, split it up and froze. Will be great all summer long.

Champagne Punch III
I made this for an anniversary cocktail party and the crowd was not full of drinkers...but this stuff was GONE! Very pretty and great for a party.
