Applesauce

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2011
This is an great tasting easy applesauce recipe! I used fresh golden delicious apples from the orchard, halved the amount of sugar and used a little less water than what was called for and it turned out perfect. Cooked it for 3-4 hours in the crockpot on high heat and mashed most of it with a potato masher which left some chunks in it. Delicious!

Ham, Potato, and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2013
This soup was scrumptious! The only thing I changed was using 2 cups chicken broth in place of some of the water. Tasted like cheesy au gratin potatoes with ham in soup form. Super duper delicious, will definitely be making again!

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
Loved these fries! I only used 1 tbsp oil for 3 potatoes but tripled the spices, so fries ended up being lower in fat and delicious. I do agree with other reviewers - 450 is too hot, baked at 400 for 30-35 mins. instead. The thinner you cut the fries the crunchier they turn out - yum!

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2013
Love this recipe! I cook my meat in the crockpot on low for several hours until done and falls apart, the spices in this recipe are so amazing! Tastes like what you pay several bucks for at chipotle or qdoba.

Miss Betty's Super Quick Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
These little rolls were awesome! Very moist and tasty. I listened to other reviewers when they said they were a bit bland tasting (I could see that if I didn't add anything extra) so added 1/4 tsp. rosemary. Delicious!

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2012
Absolutely delicious! I listened to other reviewers' suggestions and decreased the rosemary to 2 tsp instead of 1 tbsp and substituted 2 cups beef broth for 2 cups of the water, and added 1/2 cup finely chopped onion. I actually put my roast completely frozen in the crockpot on low and 7 hours later it was done..the meat is so tender it just falls apart, it is super easy to shred. I served the meat on sub buns toasted in the oven with provolone cheese on top and au jus on the side. The au jus is delicious! All in all will definitely make again..adding it into my monthly rotation.

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
Like many others was sooo skeptical about trying this recipe but so glad I did! The seasoned chicken and cottage cheese combo made a delicious filling for enchiladas. I made this with flour tortillas, making sure to put a thin layer of enchilada sauce on the bottom of the 9x13 pan and dipped the tortillas in enchilada sauce before filling and rolling them up. Would definitely make again!

Oven Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
These oven-baked eggs turned out perfect! I made two pans for an Easter brunch, one 9x13 as directed and the second was a half recipe baked in an 8x8 pan with shredded cheese on top. I was a little worried because they had to sit about 15 mins before serving while the biscuits baked (the recipe says serve immediately), I just covered the pans with foil and they tasted great and the consistency was perfect. Will definitely make again!

Oatmeal Pudding Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
These were fantastic! Changes I made were using 1 c butter in place of shortening, only used 2 1/2c oats based on other reviews, and added 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp allspice. Also used dried cranberries in place of raisins. So delicious, will definitely make again!

This tastes exactly like any taco seasoning you would buy in a store, but costs just pennies to make! I love it! Thanks so much for the recipe.

Chocolate Zucchini Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
I was worried I overbaked this cake since the edges were quite a ways from the side of the pan when cooled, however this cake was SO moist and yummy! It reminded me of a cake-like version of zucchini brownies. Will definitely be making again!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars II

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
These are always a hit, wherever I take them! I omit the brown sugar and use 3 cups of powdered sugar instead, and add 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs (as suggested by another reviewer- thank you) Otherwise they are way too soft. I sometimes use a combo of milk chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate chips to cover the top or all milk chocolate chips. Scrumptious!!!

Martha's Cornbread Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
This recipe was fantastic! Very cheap to make too, since I used up leftover cornbread and biscuits to make it. I scled the recipe to make 5 servings (still put it in a 9x13 pan and it yielded about 8 servings for us) I didn't make a chicken, I just combined the other ingredients, put it in a 9x13 pan and poured 1 can of chicken broth over the top of it. I baked it at 350 for 1 hour - delicious!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
These cookies are delicious! I made them without nuts and they reminded me a lot of soft batch choc chip cookies. When I stored them in an air-tight container they stayed soft throuhout but when I stored them on a plate with plastic wrap over them they stayed just a little crisp on the edges..wonderful either way! This will definitely be my new 'go-to' choc chip cookie recipe! Update: I make a double batch of this dough frequently and freeze the dough in balls, then store in a ziploc freezer bag. I can bake them directly from the freezer, 350 for 15 or so minutes and they're perfect. This makes it so convenient to always have fresh-baked cookies on hand at a moment's notice! Also I have given family and friends some of these frozen dough balls as gifts and they love the convenience and taste!

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
Wow this cobbler is excellent! I halved the recipe so that it made just 3-4 servings since no one needs more than one serving of cobbler around here! I just cooked the blackberries in a pot on the stove and transferred them to a 1 qt dish, cooked for about 15 mins or when the top was golden. Wonderful!
