Tortillas I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
I have never made tortillas before, but thought that I would try. I know that they are called "flour" tortillas, but mine were a little too floury. I might try one more time and see if that was just a one time issue. A tip that I read on the website to roll out the dough was to put the ball of dough in a big ziploc bag and roll it out. That seemed to work really well for me!

BBQ Chicken Pizza II

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
I guess that I am just not a fan of BBQ chicken pizza. I am a pepperoni and sausage kind of gal. It was easy to make and looked really yummy. I used a rotesseri chicken from the grocery store. I don't think that I will make it again, just not for my family

Teriyaki Marinated Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
I was craving teriyaki chicken and found this recipe. I already had everything for it. I get it ready the night before we are going to have it for dinner. It is nice to already have dinner waiting in the fridge. We grill it on our George Foreman grill along with some pineapple rings. Then we serve it with rice. I also strain the leftover marinade and cook it on the stove with a little cornstarch to make a gravy to put over the chicken and the rice. YUM!!

Pigs in a Blanket

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
Ok, my version is very similar except for a few things!! I use crescent rolls. I have two little guys, so to make them easier to handle-I cut the hot dogs in half. Then I place the cheese slice on the crescent roll then the 1/2 hot dog. So I make 8 pigs in a blanket, but only use 4 hot dogs. MY BOYS LOVE THEM!!

Strawberry Glazed Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
I used this for strawberry shortcake. My mom had bought the wrong thing, so I found this. It turned out great. I did have to thin it out when we were ready to eat. It was not too sweet and the texture was great. I am not a fan of the store bought glaze, but with this it was great!

Strawberry Syrup

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
I love this recipe. I make it to go with crepes and pancakes. We add a little cool whip and YUM!! I have also added a little bit of jello just to thicken it a bit.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
WOW!!!! These pancakes are so easy to make. I will never make a mix again! They are so light and fluffy. I did add vanilla to the recipe. I think that next time I will try buttermilk instead of milk. This is my new favorite pancake recipe (and we eat pancakes all the time).

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
These cookies are very good. I wish they were a bit softer, but they have great flavor. They cook up beautiful. Some cookies taste good, but don't look that great. These have both. I did under cook them. Also, because I have two smaller children (2 and 4) I really didn't want them eating HUGE cookies, I used about a Tablespoon. I don't know if the size makes that much of a difference. I think that next time I might try both sizes (the big for the adults and little for the kids). I did refridgerate my dough for about an hour and a half. I will definatley make these cookies again!! I made these a few times small, but then decided to try them big. They are much better (and chewier) big. I don't think that I will ever make them small again. However, with my group...I will need a double batch.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2008
This is the best ziti ever. I use a pasta sauce that has sausage in it already (I think that it is Prego). Other than that, I follow the recipe. It reheats wonderfully!!! My little ones even scarf down this meal. It is a keeper with my family.

Easy Baked Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
I followed the directions, except I used Swiss cheese. I didn't have a problem with the cheese leaking out. My husband wants to try it with bacon instead of ham next time. I will make this again for sure!

Chocolate Sandwich Cookies II

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
This recipe was really good. I cooked the cookies for about 10 minutes and at first they were a little harder than I would like, but I put them in an airtight container and the next morning they were soft. I gave it 4 stars because of the frosting. I added a lot more sugar, vanilla extract, and some milk. It was far to cream cheesey for my taste, but with a few small changes...the whole sandwich cookie was delicious. My kids love them!!

Chicken Pot Pie II

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
This is by far a family favorite. My husband doesn't normally like Chicken Pot Pie, but he requests this one. I buy the frozen crust bottoms and then the rollout tops from the deli case. (We like a lot of crust) When I made this the first time, I did it just as instructed. I found it a little dry. The next time I added extra cornstarch to the vegetables and then extra chicken broth. It was much better. It even reheats well. We look forward to leftovers for lunch the next day. It definatly makes enough for 2 pies!

Easy Biscuit Mixture

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
These biscuits were delicious. I made them for bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches. My family loved them so much that I ran out. I will have to make a bigger batch next time. Much better than bisquick biscuits!!!
