I am a 33 yo SAHM, living in Ohio with my husband and 3 boys. We are lucky to have great cooks on both sides of the family and live in a community where there are many great cooks. I have been cooking since I was in the 8th grade. My mom is an awesome cook and was always preparing something when I was growing up. I love to try new things. I also love to do home canning.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make cookies, bars and desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, I would make cut-out sugar cookies with my mom and brother. We would frost and decorate them festively. We would also bake several other Christmas cookies to pass out to family and friends. I have continued this tradition.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs would have to be learning to make bread and cinnamon rolls like my mom.

Baja Stuffed Potatoes
This is my second time making these potatoes. As written, this recipe gets three stars from me, as it is a little bland. These are the changes I made. After baking my potatoes and scooping out the pulp, I mashed the pulp, then added 4 TB. butter and the amount of sour cream called for. I added salt and pepper to my taste which really helped the flavor. I then added two cans of the drained corn and one can of the chilies. I did divide the filling and used cheddar in half of the filling for my kids and pepper jack for my husband and me in the other half. Then, I baked as directed, pulled them out, topped with more cheese, baked 5 more minutes and served. YUM!! I will keep on making this recipe with the changes stated. Oh, I did have some filling leftover and may only use one can of the corn next time.

Smokey Chipotle Meatloaf
This is delicious! The only change I made was to bake on a cookie sheet lined with tinfoil. I just shaped it into a loaf and added a tad more BBQ sauce(used Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown Sugar) to the top because we like it saucey. This came together quickly and has the right amount of spice and heat. This is definitely a keeper for us.

Creamy Chipotle Chicken
This is a nice, flavorful, and easy crock pot recipe. I made this as is but put my chicken breast in frozen. It came out great :) I cooked this on low and it was done in my slow cooker after only 4 hours. The chicken was moist and the sauce is nice and creamy with a smoky kick. I served this over rice with a side of broccoli. I will be making this again.
