Orange Juice Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
Well, I meant to buy a box of orange cake mix and the store was out and decided to use dry ingredients from a cook book for a yello cake. I accidentally used baking soda instead of baking powder, but caught it and added some baking powder, well aware that this cake may be doomed. I used orange jello and vanilla pudding in the cake part. I added orange juice, in place of water and added orange extract in the syrup part. Well, it was getting too dark so I put foil over the top and cooked it about an hour. It tasted great, but it wouldn't stay in a solid piece. Maybe next time, I use a box cake mix and make sure not to use baking soda (still can't believe I did that)...it would probably be a more solid dessert. Not worthy of a picture but still yummy!

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
I used the same basic recipe, but added parsley, more minced garlic, and not a lot of Basil and let the chicken thighs and potato wedges marinate overnight. It came out delightfully good and tender. Will make I'm the future! Kitchen smelled yummy as well while it was cooking.

One Bowl Brownies

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
One of the easiest Brownie recipes I've ever tried and one of the best. Very fudgie and crispy on outside. I did cook it longer than stated because I put it in a different sized dish and wasn't sure if it was done a few times, but it tasted wonderful! This was so convenient AND tasty that I will for sure make again.

Chicken Suiza Cornbread Bake

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
It was so yummy! I added the cream of chicken soup with the chicken mix, added jalapenos, used two eggs, one cup of sour cream and added sliced olives to the chicken mix. I had no mushrooms or green chiles but the hubby and I loved it anyway. Next time I would add more jalapeno into the cornbread mix and green chiles with the chicken.

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: May 3, 2010
Surprisingly it wasn't cheesy enough. I even thought I had too much cheese at one point, but by dinner time, it was obvious that it was a little flavor-less.

This was simply wonderful. I let it sit over night and by the next evening, the scent of it cooking was divine. I will make this again and again.

Aioli

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
I halved the recipe because I just wanted to try it first and use it with sandwiches. It turned out perfectly delicious. I had no problems with the consistency and the flavor was good. I spread it on two pieces of bread, added my meat, topped with pepper jack cheese, and put it in the broiler. When I took it out I added some lettuce and tomato and put it back in the broiler to toast both sides of the bread (flipped it). I thought it was wonderful as far as sandwiches go. I will definitely make this again and try with more of a meal recipe next time.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
Usually when I see a recipe on here that gets good reviews, I'm skeptical because sometimes I think some people are very easy to please. However, this recipe really is fantastic. I definitely love chocolate and pulled up the site to find a quick cookie recipe. I made this perfectly after tossing out the first mix of ingredients because I didn't read other reviews and didn't read the recipe correctly. It is almost impossible to cream butter, sugar, and flour at the same time. What a waste of ingredients. I will keep this recipe on hand from now on. Awesome!

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I did the changes that so many others did (by adding rotel, doubling the recipe, adding 8 oz of cream cheese and shreadded chicken) and it turned out delicious. I was afraid I had made it to spicy, so I omited the cillantro. It was to die for and so easy. I will make this from now on. Also, I found doubing the recipe, it made way more for than 4 servings. Great leftover!

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
I thought the cornbread was way too thick, but cooked it anyway. It came out super crumbly and fell into little tiny pieces. I also could taste the baking powder and thought there was too much of it. When you tasted the crust it tasted funny. I would probably add milk and maybe margarine next time and less baking powder.

Quick Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
I thought this recipe dried out the chicken too much and didn't have enough flavor. It's very simple to do though.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies VII

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
I thought the taste of this recipe is exceptional, but the cookies fell apart (I made cookies out of them). I doubled the cinnamon, since I love cinnamon and did the remaining recipe exactly stated. I could eat these cookies over and over without getting tired of them. I just which they would hold together better. I just tried the bar method and I hope maybe they hold together better that way. Very delicious!
