Easy Alfredo Sauce I

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
This recipe was fantastic! Even my "picky" daughter said it was good. I sauteed some fresh garlic with the melting butter, then added the cream and allowed to combine before gradually adding the parmesan cheese and stirring constantly. I used the Kraft grater which allowed for fine grating/easier melting. Thickened up well after allowing to simmer. Served over tortellini with some peas and bacon. Yum!

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
Great recipe! Wasn't too sure about it as I mixed all the marinade ingredients together, but once I tasted the finished product... WOW!

Prize Winning Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
Delicious! Based on other reviews, we played around with the seasoning a bit and cooked the ribs for almost 90 minutes. This recipe is a keeper!

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
Easy, fabulous smell while cooking, moist, delicious! We made the A. Brown brined turkey last year, but all agreed this was better. Cooked faster than I thought and therefore didn't brown as much as I would have liked, so I'll turn it over sooner next time.

After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
A delicious way to finish off those Thanksgiving leftovers. Very tasty. A nice alternative to the usual broth soups. The only change I would make is to add a little more rice next time. But otherwise, this soup is wonderful!

Apple Crumble Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Delicious! I used Honeycrisp apples, which I like for the combo of sweet and tart. The crumb topping makes this pie perfect. Definitely a keeper!

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Very good cookies! If you want them to be softer and chewier, you'll need to take them out before they brown... a little earlier than you would think. For me, it was between 8-9 minutes.

Taco Seasoning I

Great flavor and so easy to make with ingredients already in the cabinet. I haven't bought taco seasoning packets since finding this recipe!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2010
Mmm - so good! I've received many compliments when I've made it. I do modify slightly... I prefer using fresh boneless chicken breasts, also a combo of Ranch and Bleu Cheese. I've found that Frank's Buffalo Wing sauce works well in place of the hot sauce.

We are MD natives living out west, so this is great for us - a taste of home! Delicious! Another great use for Old Bay!

Easy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
Easy and delicious option to store bought granola bars. I like to go to the bulk section at our "Whole Foods" type store and get dried cherries, chocolate chips, dried apricots and apples. We go hiking quite a bit and it's a treat we all look forward to!

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2011
I have been making these at least twice a month since I found this recipe back in the Fall. I've done jumbo, regular and mini muffins and often freeze them for a grab and take snack. They are wonderful and the kids devour them. I don't even add the streusel topping. I do make a few minor changes.... instead of the pumpkin pie spice, I make my own variation - 1 tbsp of cinnamon, 1 tsp cloves, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and 1/4 tsp ginger. Also, I'll occasionally divide the basic pumpkin recipe in half and add apples to one half and chocolate chips (no apples) to the other half. Not sure which I like better and they are both delish!!

Cinnamon Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
Very good. Nice to have a new way to do sweet potatoes. I followed the suggestions of others and put the cut potatoes in a zipper bag and tossed with the oil prior to putting in the oven. Also, i doubled the brown sugar and cinnamon and did not use the lime. Made it nice and syrupy (I like that though). No problems with the oil, as some have said. Cooked for about 15-20 min after adding sugar mixture. This recipe is a keeper!

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
I like to double the seasonings. I also soak the seeds in salt water for a while, then try to dry the seeds out as much as I can. Yum! The kids just devour these. Bought extra pumpkins from the patch just for seeds!!

Ham, Potato, and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
Very easy and delicious. I used ham stock I made (from a leftover ham bone - boiled w/celery & onion for 2 hrs) in place of the water and chicken bouillion. I also mashed the potatoes once cooked, but that was for personal taste as I don't like cubed potatoes in my soup. Will definitely make again!

Apple Crisp Cups

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
These little treats are quite tasty, but a little time consuming as other have stated. Cutting the butter into the dry ingredients was the most difficult part for me. I also only had enough apples to make about 24, so next time I will increase the amount of apples I use from 3 to 5 or 6. A great little dessert, but not for those who want something quick and easy.
