Super Easy Chicken and Dumplings

This recipe was good and easy, but next time I make it I will be using low sodium cream of chicken soup and low sodium chicken broth. It was VERY salty.

I followed the other reviewers' suggestions and used cream of potato soup and added a can of plain sweet corn. I also used prepackaged bacon pieces, which I added right before serving. I would caution not turning the heat to high in order to avoid the milk burning on the bottom of the pan. Really nice when topped with a little shredded cheese.

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

This is the easiest cookie recipe ever! I took the other reviewers advice about the tsp of vanilla and 2 T of oil. I made mine with chocolate cake mix and added the Andes mint chips. They were like chewy thin mint girlscout cookies. I would make a batch and they would disappear as soon as I pulled them out of the oven. Mmm mmm good!

Strawberry Champagne Punch

I blended the strawberries first. I decided since I had a few friends over that I would just make the drinks in the glasses. I added about 1/4 champagne flute strawberry puree, filled to about 3/4 full with champagne, then topped off with the ginger ale. Everyone raved about how good this was! We were able to get about 9-10 servings with 1 750mL bottle of champagne and used only about 1/3 of the 1L ginger ale bottle. Yummy!

Sour Cream Bundt Cake

This is a great standby cake recipe. I also make this with chocolate cake mix and chocolate pudding. Make sure to follow directions on the box and add the eggs and oil. When I make the chocolate cake, I add chocolate chips to give it some chocolate gooey-ness. When I make the yellow cake mix I layer the batter with cinnamon, sugar, and pecans to make a coffee cake. This recipe is easily adapted!

Banana Split Cake III

This was a very good cake. I would suggest using all vanilla pudding because the banana pudding gave it that artifical banana flavor. I may leave out the cream cheese because when I mixed it with the pudding it gave it a gacky consistency which made it hard to spread. I am not a big cherry fan, so I sliced fresh strawberries on the top to garnish and drizzled it with Hershey's chocolate syrup.

Cheeseburger Soup I

This is an awesome hearty soup recipe. I like to use sharp cheddar cheese so you can taste the cheese in the soup. I also use ground turkey insead of ground beef so I don't have to drain any grease off. I have made this soup several times, and there is never any leftover!

Cathedral Cookies

These are exactly like the ones my grandmother would make for Christmas. They were a hit with the entire family. You can prepare these ahead of time, and take out of the freezer and slice as needed. It is exciting to me to share a one of my grandmother's signature cookies with our family once again!

Wonderful Banana Cake

Very moist cake! I used 3 bananas, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and 1 c of sour cream per other reviewers' suggestions. I used the Vanilla Glaze recipe to pour over. I baked this in a chrysanthemum bundt pan. It was such a pretty cake. Had enough leftover batter to make a smaller loaf of banana bread. This recipe is a keeper!

Baked Potato Soup

I made several changes to the original soup recipe based on others' suggestions. I cubed the potatoes with skin still on and boiled them along with the onion, garlic, and basil in the chicken broth. I too used the sour cream (about 2/3-1c) instead of the half and half. I bought precooked bacon pieces (the kind on the salad dressing aisle) and mixed these in at the same time as the sour cream. Once the sour cream was mixed evenly, I added about 1-1 1/2 c of sharp cheddar cheese and simmered while stirring until cheese was melted. It is flavorful and hearty. The perfect soup for a cold, dreary day!
