About this Cook
I'm 14 and I love to sing, run track, fashion design, read, play piano and I bake and cook A LOT! I also am "Mom" to two felines who are always fighting.
My favorite things to cook
I have a family of carbohydrate fiends (me included. I bake a loaf of bread or a batch of muffins every day and believe me it gets eaten. I try to make everything healthy, but once in a while I can't resist making that really rich dessert or baked good!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make some really yummy pies every Thanksgiving. This Thanksgiving I made a pumpkin ice cream pie with a gingersnap crust. Heaven! I should stop now because my mouth is watering.
My cooking triumphs
Some of my baked goods have been spectacular, and my lasagna, pizza, stuffed shells and meatballs rock, if I may say so myself. (Can you tell I like Italian food?) I also make really good soups, chillis and quiches. Sorry if I'm tooting my own horn too much.
My cooking tragedies
This question is MEAN!!! The over-seasoned chilli, the pudding that tasted...not like pudding; the lemon sponge cake that was more like a lemon rock. There have been a lot of tragedies, but I consider them as 'learning experiences'. :-)

Cinnamon-Raisin Peanut Butter Sandwich
Delicious!! I scaled the recipe down to just 1 serving. I used a little less honey then called for and it was still sweet enough for me. Also used crunchy all-natural pb for more texture. This is a new favorite. Thanks Lily!!

Maple Whole Wheat Bread
SO good...with modifications. The lack of salt in this recipe could be to blame for all the problems other reviewers have had with the bread being dense, not rising or falling. I increased the salt to 1 tsp. I also reduced the liquid to 1 cup and used milk instead of water. When the beep sounded on my breadmaker I added chopped almonds. Delicious!! Fluffy, just sweet enough, and makes a killer egg salad sandwich the next day! :-)
