Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
Loved the recipe! Easy and great! I added more onion and about 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese. Next time I will try some shredded cheddar. Thanks for a nice simple way to prepare potatoes!

Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
Made this tonight with a few variations and it was delicious. I didnt use the bacon and used the gravy packet that came with 3 pound breast. Mixed the gravy with the other ingredients and poured over breast. Basted twice while it cooked. Cooked 6 hours on low and it was super moist and delicious. Great recipe!

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I made this for Christmas Breakfast today. I intended to follow the recipe with a few tweaks. I used mozzerella in place of the swiss and I used leftover ham from christmas Eve dinner. I also used nine eggs. I assembled it on xmas eve and took to my daughters xmas morning. It was very good. We also had biscuits and gravy. It fed 4 adults and there was half a pan left. Great recipe and I will be making it again.

Excellent! Needed to cook for 30 minutes longer than recipe stated. Put a cup of water in bottom of pan and chicken was moist and delicious without using an oven bag! Great spices1

Chocolate Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
We love this cake! Few changes -we use french vanilla pudding, 8 oz cool whip, 3 cups of milk and u must refrigerate overnight! Not messy at all-serves beautifully. At St Patricks day we make it with 1 package of pistachio pudding and one french vanilla. Gives it a light pale green color, which would be good for Christmas or Easter! Our family eats the whole 9x13 pan (there is 10 adults!)

Carrot Cake III

FABULOUS!!!!Only one thing would make this better-1 cup of golden raisins! I used post of gneebeanie (who read all reviews-thanks!) I made these for Easter dinner this year. Can't wait to see how my grown up children will like these. (I dont expect grandkids will like them because of nus!) But so far my husband and I cant stop eating them!So I will post what I did: First I made cupcakes-recipe makes 3 1/2 dozen, And I cooked them at 350 for 20 minutes. Fill cups 2/3 full Ingredients: 4 eggs 3/4 c canola oil 1/2 c apple sauce 1 c brown sugar 1c white sugar 3t. vanilla extract 2 cups flour 2t. baking soda 2t. baking powder 1/2 t salt 3t. ground cinnamon 8 oz. crushed pineapple(drain well) 24 oz. grated baby carrots 1 c. chopped pecans Frosting 1/2 c softened butter 8 oz cream cheese, softened 1t vanilla extract I did not use pecans in frosting but instead put a 1/2 walnut on top of each cupcake for decoration. 3 1/2 c powdered sugar

Slow-Cooked Pork Barbecue

This was delicious! I would have prefered a spicier BBQ sauce-we used Sweet Baby Rays and I think Open Pit would have been better. Personal preference

Cheesy Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2012
I have made this casserole for the past 4 Christmas mornings. Everyone loves it! The only change I made was to put chunks of ham in from XMAS eve dinner. DOnt care for breakfast casseroles that have bread in them. This is just perfect to feed a large crowd!

Navy Bean Soup I

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2013
Delicious! I have made this several times since the first time I downloaded the recipe! This Easter I didnt buy chicken stock so I used the chicken bouillion as recipe stated but I think I prefer the chicken stock. I also boiled the ham bone in plain water before adding to the soup as someone else had suggested. That was a great tip and this recipe is just delicious! Just like my mom used to make!

Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2013
This brings me back to childhood! Love this recipe and agree-you can add whatever fruits you prefer. We used a can of mixed fruits, small can of mandarin oranges, small jar of maraschino cherries, small can of pineapple chunks, about a 1/4 c of flaked coconut and 8 oz sour cream (enough to moisten) like the idea of adding marshmallows before serving-will try this for Christmas. I usually make this for Easter dinner and I like to use the fruity kind of marshmallows for the pretty pastel colors! If people didnt know it was sour cream they couldnt tell. People have asked me why dont I just use cool-whip and I say that would make it unbearably sweet, sour cream is just right!!!

Sausage Barley Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2014
This was a great soup! I used 2 carrots and wish I would have added more barley as I love barley but it was wonderful soup. The rest of the family added hot sauce to their bowls so I think hot sausage would be an awesome idea also!
