Roasted Herb Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2013
I didn't have any rosemary so I substituted thyme and will probably do that again since it tasted perfect! The smell in our house while the chicken baked was absolutely awesome. Once the turkey was finished it was beautiful and tasted perfect!

Cheese and Bacon Potato Rounds

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2012
These are surprisingly good. I burnt my bacon so ended up using bacon bits as a back up and I think I will just do this in the future because it was so easy and good. Everyone raved about them. I also forgot to put the green onions on -- which I will try to remember to add next time...but their absence did not detract.

Swiss Meat Loaf

Reviewed: May 29, 2011
Since submitting this recipe I have baked it for many friends who ALWAYS ask for the recipe and rave about the taste...This is always a hit!! I always use venison w/10% suet added and it is a great way to serve venison -- especially to those who aren't quite used to the taste of wild game.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Great! A couple important things. Use the top rack of your oven and try baking at about 400 instead of the recommended temp. Also, when rolling out the strips -- try to make them as thin as possible. You really can't get them too thin. When I did my first batch they were thick enough that they almost tasted like a dinner roll rather than a pretzel -- but when I made them thinner -- well, they were FANTASTIC. Also, try the Beer Cheese Pretzel and Dip (dip only, obviously) that is on this site as well. They go great together.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
VERY good!! Some reviews said this didn't make much frosting but I had more than enough (and I am a frosting-a-holic) to cover my 9 x 13 cake -- with a bit left over for just me!! Thanks for the easy recipe!

Kelsey's Favorite Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
Wonderful!! I tried making these w/o boiling peppers prior to cooking as some said they got too mushy - but next time I will boil them as I prefer my peppers soft instead of crunchy -- so this recipe was COMPLETELY spot on! Thanks

The Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2010
I really liked this recipe. I did not have celery seed - so used celery salt for both the regular salt plus the seed. We also don't like olives so I omitted those. I used a couple green onions (whole thing) from the garden. I really like this potato salad but my husband says it is ok...But I still give it 5 stars!

Rhubarb Crunch

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
perfectly awesome with rhubarb doubled and an extra tablespoon of flour...don't miss out on this one! The brown sugar coupled with the rhubarb makes it hard to eat just one portion.

Rhubarb Icebox Dessert

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
I was so excited to try this recipe - unfortunately -- the mix of flavors really wasn't as great as I'd hoped. I brought it for a family event and didn't get the oooh's and ahhh's I usually get when I make desserts. I ended up scraping off the creamy top layers and only eating the rhubarb and graham cracker layer (which layer was very good). Sorry -- maybe my tastebuds aren't the same as everyone elses...

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
I love this recipe. I will say though - only make this if you are committed to spending some time on supper. It definitely is time consuming. Not a quick supper to "whip up." I made up the chicken and sauce the night before - then let it cook in the slow cooker while at work the next day and then I put it all together and baked when I got home. Awesome taste - but I won't make it too often because it is definitely not healthy -- one of the worst I have ever made as far as that goes. But sometimes you just gotta indulge.

Busy Night Turkey Taco Soup with Avocado Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
This is the best. I didn't have cilantro the night I made it and it was good, but I ran to the store and added Cilantro to the leftovers and it was FANTASTIC!! This is a keeper

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
This was very good. I changed a few things: I used venison steaks (backstraps) instead of the roast. I sauteed the veggies I used in butter before putting them in the crock pot. I also used a jar of salsa instead of the canned tomatoes, I added some diced tomatoes that I had frozen this summer. I also added some green peppers that I had frozed. I added some Thyme and Basil. I left out the frozen veggies called for.

Chocolate Brittle Surprise

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
Absolutely awesome. I used lowfat cinnamon graham crackers instead of the crackers that were called for - - I LOVED it! I omitted the nuts as I am not a fan. These taste like Heath or Toffee candy bars!

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
Great when used with venison!! I followed other recommendations and added an extra teaspoon of italian seasoning, and added an extra egg (venison is so lean and I find the extra egg gives it a little bit more moisture). I didn't have fresh parsley so only added 1 tsp. It really was very good - both my picky daughter and husband ate this!

Perfect! I made in the slow cooker on high for about 8 hours - added some extra water at the end - added some black beans and chicken boullion and it was great!

10 Pound Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
This is fine, except I prefer mine a little bit sweeter. The recipe I use does not use the whipped cream and I prefer it that way - but I know some would prefer it a little less sweet - for you, this should be perfect.

Country Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2009
These beans are awesome and easy. Only change I made was using chicken broth instead of water and then I didn't add any salt. My 9-year-old daughter said "this is the first time I have ever liked ANY kind of beans!" Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Swedish Cookies (Brunscrackers)

AWESOME! Best and easiest sugar cookies ever. Don't even compare to any I have ever eaten! Definitely need to give them some time to cool before cutting into strips or you will have a mess on your hands.

Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
This is the first bad review I have given to a recipe - but I had to do it. My daughter asked me why I made something so bad - and I had to agree. Unfortunately I wasted all of these ingredients and my time on this recipe. Please don't waste your time.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
This is an AWESOME and easy recipe. One suggested using at least 2% milk - since I only had skim I substituted 1 cup evaporated milk and 1 cup skim milk for the 2 cups milk. Next time I will use less evaporated as it got a little too thick while it was cooking and I had to add more skim - otherwise I didn't change a think and it was just about as easy as using the boxed puddings and you get to say you made it from scratch. Thanks!
