I am mother of two sons, ages 9 and 7. My husband and I work full time, which is why quick and easy is an important factor. The 7 year old is a picky eater. I hail from Connecticut but have lived in Maryland for over 18 years. I learned to cook from both of my parents, my grandmother and aunts/great aunts. Dad is Italian, and Mom is French Canadian. My mother in law is a talented cook and she and I exchange ideas and recipes often.

A well balanced (meat, vegetable, starch) meal that pretty much everyone enjoys. Of course my favorite things to cook include my favorite things to eat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
On the Italian side it's eggplant parmesean and angenette cookies all the way. My maternal side includes a variety of special foods with pies and roasts topping the list.

Buffalo chicken wing and hot crab dips are always a hit.
