About this Cook
I bake and cook as hobbies and as a stress reliever. I have celiac disease but don't tend to make too many gluten free recipes- the originals just taste the best! I don't eat them myself, of course, but it's wonderful hearing other people describe the flavors and textures. I also love trying to decipher tastes through the smell of food. Thankfully my boyfriend doesn't mind when I stick my nose on his plate!
My favorite things to cook
Anything new! I adore trying out new recipes. Stumbling upon allrecipes.com was one of the best mistakes ever.
My cooking triumphs
My first layer cake- it look terrible but held and tasted delicious!
My cooking tragedies
Trying to create a water bath for my cheesecake; My cookie crust was anything but crusty!

Chicken Pot Pie IX
Absolutely wonderful! I did end up changing some things for my tastes. I ended up using 3 peeled butter potatoes instead of celery, vegetable stock instead of water to boil the chicken/veggies, and I accidentally put the onions in with this mixture. I did use butter and more onion as suggested for the sauce but removed the onions (and butter with it unavoidably) to try add a little onion flavor to the sauce since I threw them in with the chicken originally. I did add 1/2tsp of garlic powder, too. I used Pillsbury ready made pie crusts and 99% fat free chicken breasts, cut in half and then into cubes/rectangles. My boyfriend loved the fact that this was the first pot pie he had eaten that didn't have slimey or gross chicken in it and claimed it was the best pot pie he's ever had. Everyone in my family adored this dish as well- including my brother who won't touch anything with onions in it. Definitely a keeper, easily modifiable to your needs, and beyond delicious!

Microwave Pralines
This recipe is delicious! I can never remember exactly how I made it the time before (did I stir it? Did I cook it the suggested time?) but regardless the flavor is always there. Not one batch has come out the same: some are crystalline, some spread out, etc. but they are always gobbled up without complaint. So while I can't give pointers on how to make it the recipe well, I can say it will be scrumptious!

Jalapeno Popper Spread
Absolutely delicious! I've never had jalapeno poppers but this was fantastic. I did mix the parmesan with bread crumbs as suggested by some. As I was preparing the dip, I taste tested and could not find any flvor or heat. As a reult I added a second can of green chiles and the majority of my 7oz can of jalapenos. Go figure, the baking is what brings out the flavor and heat. My dip was extremely spicey! I didn't receive complaints but it did catch someone off guard who had a big mouthful for the first bite. However, the dip was devoured. I'd add just a scoop few jalapenos next time but I'd definitely add more than the recipe calls for. This is a keeper and will be made many more times!
