I'll be honest - I'm a total Amelia Bedelia when it comes to the kitchen. I have very little clue as to what I'm doing and, with a husband who does most of our meal cooking with gusto and ability, I don't try my hand at stuff too often. But having two toddlers has brought out the Suzy Homemaker Syndrome, so now I'd like to increase my skills... and there's nowhere to go but up!
My favorite things to cook
My cooking triumphs
A long time ago I used a recipe to make peach chicken quesadillas and they ROCKED. I can't remember where I got the recipe now and haven't made them since.
My cooking tragedies
Where do I start?
- I used a sugar substitute instead of actual pure cane sugar to make roasted pumpkin seeds and wound up with roasted seeds surrounded by clumps of burnt-looking kind of sweet-tasting granules.
- I let my husband's rice cooker stay on too long once and created a nice large quantity of tough rice. Poor guy muscled his way through 1/2 of it before throwing it away (with my blessing).
