Oregon Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
Altered a little bit. I used two eggs for 10 0z of salmon, no butter, a third of a large onion, bread crumbs as needed, a little less than 1/4 c parsley, and "liquid" spicy mustard about 2 tsps. I cooked in oil and they turned out great! My husband said they were better than his mom's salmon patties!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
I used black beans as suggested by other members and they turned out fantastic. I highly recommend trying them for people who don't care for sweet potatoes as this blend of spices changes their taste. For those who like a little more kick I would add a small jalapeño pepper to the black bean mix.

David's Yellow Cake - Using Less Sugar

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
I made this cake for my wedding celebration and it went over extremely well. Be sure to mix the batter thoroughly until it is light and fluffy- don't rush it or it will turn out too dense!

Ali's Amazing Bruschetta

A yummy concoction. I used some dry herbs instead of fresh and it turned out okay. I think it would have been better with fresh herbs though.

A very easy and delicious frosting! Change the consistency of thickness depending on how much water you add.

I followed the advice of another reviewer to add baking soda and I was disappointed. They still turned out flat and somewhat bland.

Multigrain Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
This recipe is excellent, I did modify it however. I used one whole egg instead of two egg whites and used Stevia sweetener instead of Splenda, and added a banana- I really think that the banana was the key here.

Very good. I use 5 eggs though, to give it more body and I use whatever veggies I have in the fridge- especially spinach!

Orange Vegetables Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
I followed this recipe completely except for including the celery and it was very poorly recieved by myself and family. It is VERY mild in flavor. I thought that it would be more robust... If you are looking for something good and simple this is not the recipe for you. Try some gourd soup somewhere before committing 2-3 hrs of cooking into something that you may not like. If you are looking for something different to expirement with- this is just the recipe for you!

Wonderful! I added golden raisins and walnuts and it had a great flavor! However, be sure to check that your apples are done cooking. After following the directions mine were still a bit raw.

Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie

Wonderful, however I would suggest putting the topping on either mid way through cooking or at the beginning. I followed the directions and I had to get it to carmelize with the brioler. Otherwise an outstanding recipe!

Skillet Ham, Cabbage and Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
This recipie came out wonderful! It was so filling too! I used a chicken based white wine and herb broth, and used sausage instead of ham with some rosemary, 1 clove of garlic, green onion, thinly diced carrots(like you get in bagged salads), potatoes, and red and green cabbage. I cooked a large amount so I ended up using a pot with mostly broth and a few cups of water. Beautiful and delicious!
