Steak on a Stick

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2011
Very tasty. Added 1T brown sugar and only marinated 3-4 hours and was still good. I'll marinate it longer next time if I have time.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
Made this last year for Thanksgiving and it will become a new tradition. It was delicious! I made the caramel seperately and mixed it with the apples in a bowl before pouring into the crust. I did not make a lattice top, just topped with another pie crust with slits in the top, and brushed that with milk, and sprinkled sugar on it. The bottom was a liiiittle bit soggy (maybe because of no lattice top) but other than that, it was just perfect. Highly recommended!

Cajun Spice Mix

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
Perfect! This is my go-to cajun seasoning. I tried this recipe when I could not find a salt free version in the grocery store. I make this recipe without salt, so that I can control the amount of salt in my cajun recipes! It's great!

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
I have made this twice and it's turned out great each time. It has a bit more of a moist cake texture than a slightly crumbly coffee cake, but it's so delicious that I really don't care! Very easy, give it a try!

Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
Very good! I use a salt free cajun seasoning (found the recipe on this site) so that I can control the amount of salt. Otherwise I think that 2T of normal cajun seasoning might be too salty. But the flavor is great and it is a very quick and easy recipe!

French Silk Chocolate Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
I make this every Thanksgiving and would be in a lot of trouble from my family if I didn't. I do half vanilla, half almond and the result is just plain awesome. You do need to DOUBLE this recipe for one pie, the first year I did not and had to use whipped topping for the top half of the pie. (Was still good) Be SURE to beat with the whisk attachment on your mixer for 5 minutes between eggs. I set a timer. This ensures a smooth filling with no grainy texture. This makes an extremely rich pie and most people are fine with a tiny slice. But it is always the first one devoured!

Grilled Garlic and Herb Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
This was delicious, and easy to put together. I added a little salt to the paste. 2 hours seemed a bit long to marinate shrimp with all the lemon juice; I did so for about half an hour and they were awesome.

Fairy Godmother Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
Used 1 T light butter to sautee the angel hair in and it still turned out awesome. I could have eaten the whole dish. Hint: you can buy broken angel hair in the hispanic sections of most grocery stores.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
Good icing to use for decorating, as it dries firm but doesn't get brittle. Will need a lot more than one batch to ice most batches of cookies.

Golden Rum Cake

Yum. Rave reviews from the boyfriend. It has a strong rum flavor, but that's how he likes it. Otherwise, cut back on the rum in the glaze a little bit.

Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
This is a good base to use, and you can customize it to what you have on hand. Written as is, needs a bit more seasoning at the very least. Nice quick meal.

Peanut Butter French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
Yum. Melted pb in a square pyrex dish in the microwave first, then mixed in other ingredients. Could maybe use just a hint more sugar and a pinch of salt. Made enough for 6 pieces of plain white bread, though I would like to try with a more substantial bread.

Easy and Delicious Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
Only added 1 1/2 cups of water and the consistency was just right. Was done after 45 minutes. Usually like onion soup mix with rice but for this one, I think I'd rather leave it out and just add some herbs or something instead. Nice and easy though, would make again for a quick weeknight meal (sans onion mix).

Made this with fat free cottage cheese, very lean ground beef, and egg beaters instead of eggs. Was very good and very satisfying.
