Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I made this yesterday for Thanksgiving and people loved it. I used half the amount of sugar asked for in the sweet potato itself, and used 2/3 of the brown sugar for the topping. People loved it. I'm saving this recipe for next year. Thank you for sharing (sorry I forgot to take a photo).

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
I followed the instructions as written, but I increased the cinnamon to two teaspoons, added an extra teaspoon of freshly grated ginger, and 1/2 tsp of allspice. Very delicious. I'm keeping this recipe!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
I just made this recipe but halved. I'm not a big fan of red velvet cake but my husband loves it, and I had some leftover cream cheese frosting from another event so I decided to give it a try. The cake came out so light and fluffy, just like I like it. I didn't have the liquid food coloring so I improvised with Wilton color paste. I also used yogurt instead of sour cream because I didn't have that available. Great recipe.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
I've made this recipe many many times and it never fails to amaze me. I made it again just yesterday and here are the modifications I made. - Used 6oz greek yogurt and 10oz activia yogurt instead of sour cream as I had none at home - Used 5 long bananas - Measured out all the dry ingredients into one bowl so I wouldn't forget any of them, before proceeding to mix the sugar and butter - Used Smart Balance instead of butter - Used 1.5 cups natural cane sugar and 1 cup brown sugar so it wasn't too sweet - Spooned half the mixture into a mini loaf pan and a 9-inch loaf pan, and added 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup cranberries to the remaining half of the mixture before spooning into another mini loaf pan and a 9-inch loaf pan - Recipe yielded 2 9-inch loaves and 2 mini-loaves - Baked at 325F for 1hr 10mins It was absolutely delicious! Thank you for the recipe.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
This recipe is amazing. I've made it over five times since I discovered it in December last year. We used ground turkey, we add a bit of crushed garlic to the ground turkey when cooking it, and we add barbecue sauce to the ketchup and add it to the turkey. We also use frozen mixed veggies instead of the carrots. It comes very moist, flavorful and delicious. Great job!
