Cheddar Cabbage Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
The flavour was quite nice but I don't know that I would make it again, it was a bit 'sloppy' for our liking. It's good to try new ideas though. Thanks for sharing.

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
I was looking forward to making this recipe but sadly I was a bit disappointed. I found the meat to be quite dry. I think I will try it again sometime but next time I will use the slow cooker, that way the meat should come out more moist. Overall, rather disappointing I'm sorry.

Lamb Shank Braised in White Wine with Rosemary

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
Simply gorgeous, they just dissolved in your mouth. I served them with roast potatoes and vegies. I poured some of the juices over the vegies at the end. Compliments all around from everyone. I was enjoying them so much I didn't want my plate to become empty. I will most definitely be cooking them again and I made no changes to the recipe.

Spinach Crumb Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2008
Loved it. Very simple and super tasty. I couldn't find block processed cheese so I used sliced processed cheese (about 6 slices) and just ripped them up. I will definitely be cooking this again. I did find because the spinach was very cold after defrosting it, the meal did need extra time in the oven as it wasn't hot enough or of course you could 'zap' it at the end in the microwave. A great side dish. t

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2008
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, I thought I must have been in a 5 star restaurant. I cut back on the heat by adding only 1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes (crushed) and 1/8th teaspoon pepper. I used 600 mls of cream so I thickened it slightly with some cornflour at the end. PERFECT. I served with mushroom tagliettele. Thanks for sharing - a sure recipe for a fancy dinner party, guaranteed compliments.

One Bowl Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
Pretty good. Very simple to make and quite tasty. I made mine on the stove top in a cast iron dish, only took about 25 mins and I used basmati rice. Will cook again for sure.

Slow Cooker Chicken Creole

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
Absolutely wonderful, thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family. The only change I made though was that I added 3 tablespoons of tomato paste to give it a slightly richer flavour. A definite cook again.

Ground Beef Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
Absolutely lovely, simple and very very tasty. I used half white and half wholemeal flour when I made the pastry case and then baked it 'blind' for 20 mins. I found it took a little longer to cook than recommended but that was no big deal. I will definitely make this again.

Scottish Mince Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2008
This was very tasty. I did add a teaspoon or so of BBQ sauce and also some Parissiene Essence to give it a nice rich brown colour. A definite cook again.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
Absolutely great flavour. I removed the meat at the end and put the sauce in a saucepan and added 1 heaped tablespoon of honey and then thickened it over a low heat with cornflour and water. Once it was thick I poured it back into the slow cooker with the meat. Absolutely scrumptious.

Hearty Italian Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
Fabulous recipe, absolutely scrumptious. I made it tonight for dinner and when I first made it, I thought it was going to be too runny. But after I simmered it for 30 mins - PERFECT. Thanks for sharing, this will be a favourite.

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
These were so quick and easy. They were delicious. The first batch I made I flattened them out so they were a little more 'crisp' but the second batch I left a little more rounded and they were a little 'chewier' which we preferred. Great recipe and guaranteed to turn out.

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
This was so tasty and so easy to make. I cubed my meat rather than leaving it whole. Otherwise I followed the recipe. The aroma throughout the house was lovely and the taste was great. I served this with mashed potato, carrots and corn on the cob. A definite cook again.
