About this Cook
I learned to cook to see how nicer food was supposed to taste like about 10 years ago. I just like doing it. If I can't afford something, or don't know what something is, I'll find a recipe and cook it to taste it.

My cooking triumphs
I made a custard once. Custards are tough to make. I made a great meal when I met my mother-in-law. I finally once made a pizza my husband was happy with.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 9, I used to make a killer tomato sauce, but burned the hell out of the pasta, and it always used to come out like a cake. Like we had to slice it. Never could boil things until after high school, really. Made a nice sauce though.

Seafood Quiche
Wow. This is good!!! All I did differently was swap the Swiss cheese with Parmesan, canned mushrooms instead of fresh, and added a few drops of hot pepper sauce with hotter ground pepper... and a 1/2 cup of frozen spinach (only cuz I didn't have any veggies today). The frozen of the spinach made it take 15 min longer to cook. ... Oh yeah and I totally didn't read that part about the nutmeg til after I put in to bake, or the salt (oops!). But, hey: WOW!

Cream of Onion and Potato Soup
Perfect consistency for cream of potato. I tweaked it to make a cream of potato and broccoli. If that was your plan, too, keep in mind creaming and adding broccoli makes it bland, but Worcestershire sauce , mustard powder, and a LOT of salt (4 tbsp. in a 6 serving recipe) relieves that. Great recipe, very easy! I'll use it again.
