Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
This is almost identical to my grandma's cucumber salad!! Only difference is, I peeled the cucumbers first, used a little less sugar and used fresh dill.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
So good! I took some advice and coated the meat in the flour and seasonings - browned them first and then added them to the pot. I poured the remaining mixture in the pot (made the gravy a little thicker). I put 3 cups of beef broth. I also added 1 beef bullion cube at the start and one about 30 minutes before it was done. I doubled/tripled the veggies as well. AMAZING!

Sexy Shrimp Scampi

I didn't feel like the sauce would be enough so I added some more olive oil, some dijon mustard, white wine and parsley. Its was AMAZING!

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
This was really good - only change I made was 1/2 butter 1/2 olive oil and I added more spices than the recipe called for. Also, used boneless salmon and put in the dish and then covered with aluminum foil. We'll definitely try again!

Chicken Piccata with Artichoke Hearts

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
This was so good! Only thing I added was a chicken bullion cube and more seasoning than called for. My husband hates artichokes and onions but ate every one on his plate! Will definitely make this again!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
My husband loved these and he is NOT a fan of pumpkin anything! I added a tsp of vanilla and some white sugar - other than that, I kept it the same. I wasn't blown away by them, but they were really good.

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Spectacular! Made a few changes - added white wine, panko bread crumbs and parm cheese. We didn't have raw shrimp, so I used cooked and it came out tasting very fresh and light. Not greasy, like most scampis. We will definitely make this again!

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Really good! Added vanilla and cinnammon, like others and I substituted melted butter for oil. They were not too "banana-y" at all! Just right. I also took the advice of another and put the bananas in a ziplock bag, closed and mushed. Was so easy and the batter wasn't lumpy at all!

French Toast I

One word - INCREDIBLE!!! Only change is I sprinkled some cinammon on each piece as they cooked and put powdered sugar on top when it was done. DELICIOUS!

Chocolate Babka

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
My uncle used to make Babka all the time when I was young. I wanted to make it just like him - but this was a bit different. Still, it was GREAT! I made it exactly like the recipe and the only thing I recommend is putting the filling all over the dough. I left about 1/2 an inch on both the right and left and when I connected the ends, it left that area without chocolate.

Lime Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
This was surprisingly great! Only change I made was 1/2 the butter (seemed like too much) and I put the lime and lemon pepper on about 5 minutes before it was finished cooking. INCREDIBLE!

Sweet Potato Casserole I

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
I followed some advice and used evaporated milk instead of regular. I also doubled the topping and cut the brown sugar in half. It was delicious, but next time I won't double the topping - tasted too sweet.

Chicken Soup III

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
My first attempt at ever making chicken soup - it was DELICIOUS! Only change I made was to add dill and parsnips (something my grandma has always done). I also found it really salty - so next time I'm not adding any salt. :)

Easy Texas Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
Came out watery for some reason. We had to cook it much longer than it calls for. My family is not big on spice, so we left that out.. made this a little bland. Added some worchestire sauce and a little bit of cumin. Once we topped with cheddar and put some saltines on the side, it was pretty good!
